About
Zut
|
The Kornati Islands consist of some 140 islands, islets and reefs. In the vicinity of
the Kornati Islands, lies the island of Žut. Its numerous coves are ideal shelter for
different types of smaller boats. Inhabitants of Murter occasionally come to Žut to carry
on the olive-growing and fishing tradition. Some of the inhabitants have recognized the
needs of modern tourists, so ?ut has become famous for Robinsonian-like tourism.
Pristanište, a village on Žut, is by the number of houses the largest settlement of the
whole Kornati Islands. The southern part of the island is completely uninhabited.
West of ACI marina Žut is the 163 m high hill Tvrdomešnjak, from which a magnificent
view stretches on the western part of the Kornati Archipelago and Telaščica Cove on Dugi
otok.
