CREW PROFILE

 

 

Captain: Andreas Dragatsis

Captain Andreas was born on the island of Naxos in 1964. After graduating from the Merchant Marine Academy he worked for 3 years on merchant ships around the world, and then for 7 years as Master on luxury charter yachts as the M/Y Sirius (37m). He has been working with us as Master of M/Y CARMEN SERENA since 1998. He has excellent knowledge of the Ionian and the Aegean seas as well as the Turkish coast. Cruising with exquisite clientele for the past 9 years Captain Andreas has gained valuable knowledge and experience in serving every need of our guests. He is fluent in English, and has good knowledge of Spanish.

 

Chief Engineer: Stamatis Betsis

Our chief Stamatis is 35 years old and was born in Methena in Attica. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy as Chief engineer. For the last 12 years he has been working with Costamare, our mother company, on jour container ships. As of this year he joined us on M/Y CARMEN SERENA bringing with him his valuable experience. He is very athletic and is passionate with all sea water activities, especially swimming and fishing. He has good knowledge of English.

 

Bosun: Vangelis Antikas

Vangelis is 61 years old and was born in Porto Heli in the Peloponese. For the past 23 years he has been working on both private and charter yachts. Over these years he has gained valuable knowledge in cruising the Greek islands. He is a born seaman and an expert fisherman. He has a license to drive motor boats and has basic knowledge of English.

 

A.B. (Assistance Bosun): Giannis Brikos 

Giannis was born on the island of Imvros and has a sea service of 10 years. He began his career working on ocean going vessels and after that he worked for 4 years on luxury charter yachts. He is with us for the second year. He is passionate with all sea water activities and has a license to drive motor boats. He is 44 years old and has basic knowledge of English.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chef: Dimitris Christofis

Dimitris has joined us this year, bringing with him all his valuable knowledge and culinary excellence. He is a graduate from the French Culinary Institute of New York, and has worked in some of the most world-renowned restaurants in New York such as: Michael's, Café M, Le Cirque, Phicholine, and The Woodbox Inn in Massachusetts. He is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. He is passionate about sailing and is a former coach of the Greek National Sailing team. He also enjoys cinema and traveling.

 

Chief Steward: Thomas Beskas

Thomas is a certified chief steward and is 60 years old. He has worked on cruise ships for more than 30 years including 18 years with Royal Cruise lines. For the past 5 years he has been working on luxurious motor yachts and he joined us last year as chief steward on M/Y CARMEN SERENA. He has brought with him a lot of valuable experience. He is very attentive to detail and will do his best to satisfy every need of our guests. He was born in Gliki, a village in Thesprotia, Ipiros. He is fluent in English and Italian and has good knowledge of Spanish. He likes traveling very much and is passionate with swimming.

 

Steward: Demitris Modinos

Demitris was born in Athens. He has worked in several top restaurants for the past 4 years and joined us 2 years ago on the M/Y CARMEN SERENA. Demitris will do everything in his power to keep the guests happy all the time. He is a big sports fan and particularly likes swimming. He is 27 years old and has very good knowledge of English.

 

Assistant Steward: Maria Baltzaki

Maria was born in Piraeus. For the past four years she has been working as steward on the yachts M/S Eleni (29m) and M/S Nefeli (25m). Maria joins us for her third season on the M/Y CARMEN SERENA, bringing with her a sense of style and perfection. She is passionate with all sea water activities and has good knowledge of English.
