CREW PROFILE

 

 

Captain:                        Anastasios Mentis, 51 years old, married. He is a high school graduate and holds a Certificate of Skipper Class A. He is coming from a sailing family and started learning sailing with his father, which made him adore the sea. He started traveling around the world on large vessels when he was 16 years old, and has been sailing all over Greece on professional yachts since 1970. He has been working on M/S VENETIA since 1982. He enjoys fishing, water-skiing, sailing and B.B. Qing. He speaks English and Greek.

 

Cook:                            Spiridoula Menti, 47 years old, married (to the captain). She is a high school graduate and has a Certificate of Skipper Class B. She has been working on yachts since1973 and has also got some experience of working on large vessels abroad. She is quite willing and capable of cooking all types of cuisine, especially the fish caught by the captain's nets. Her specialty is Greek Cuisine. Some of her favorites are making cakes and pancakes for breakfast, ouzo snacks and various types of sweets for dessert. She has been the cook of M/S VENETIA since 1983. She speaks English and Greek and her hobbie is..cooking!

 

Sailor:                          Stavros Mentis, 23 years old, single. He is a high school graduate. Stavros is the captain's nephew. He had been working as a waiter in restaurants for two years, when he started sailing on VENETIA in 1997. Therefore he is quite experienced in helping both the cook and the captain. His hobbies are diving, fishing, sailing and singing. He speaks English and Greek.
