Approach

The approach from SE is straightforward. Approaching from NW however beware of the rocks and shoals towards the NW end of the Zverinacki Kanal. The central shoal is marked by a light beacon (Fl(2)6s4M). The other shoals lie approximately 3 cables NW and NE of the beacon.

Berth

Lines have been laid for visitors on the outside of the N quay. Alternatively anchor in 12m and take lines ashore. Depths in the bay are too great for lying to an anchor alone. Harbour dues are charged.

Shelter

Good shelter from N and E. The bay is exposed in all other winds, and can be dangerous in strong SW winds.

Facilities

Water and electricity are available (ask HM). There is a small grocery store in the village. Restaurant. Ferry service. OTOK MOLAT Charts BA 57 5, 2773 (detailed), MK 11, 13, lmray M25 Otok Molar lies N of Dugi Otok and NW of the islands of Zverinac, Tun Veli, Tun Mali and Sestrunj. It is separated from these islands by narrow straits, known as the Sedmovrace. To the NW of Otok Molar lies Otok 1st. Prolaz Zapuntel, the channel between Otok Molar and Otok 1st, offers a well sheltered and delightful anchorage for yachts. Otok Molar is approximately 6M long (NW to SE). Its S coast is cut by a long deep inlet, Brguljski Zaljev, which affords shelter to ships. There are also several anchorages suitable for yachts within this inlet. There are three villages on Otok Molar: Molar, Brgulje, and Zapuntel. All three villages lie inland, but they have landing places around which a few houses have been built. The description of the anchorages and harbours on Otok Molar commences with Brguljski Zaljev on the S coast, followed by Uvala Jazi, the second landing place for Molar village, and finishes with the anchorages in Prolaz Zapuntel.
