45°46'.7N 13°35'.2E Charts BA 1471, lmray M24 A channel marked by red and white (to port) and green and white (to starboard) posts, some with lights, leads to the mouth of Fiume Timavo and to the small harbour. There is a Fl(2)G.10s light on a G pedestal, marking the entrance to the channel. The harbour is known as Villagio del Pescatore S Marco and is near to the village of San Giovanni shown on Chart 1471. The harbour lies less than lM northwest of Duino. The channel divides into two arms, which lead into the harbour. Tie up amongst the local boats, as space permits. Shelter is good from all directions, although the bora is felt strongly here. Water is available from a public tap. Grocery store, hotel, restaurant, and a cafe/bar. Telephones. Bus service. Marina Lepanto is located up the channel leading off to port near the Burgo paper factory. Besides the usual marina facilities, it offers a full range of services for yachts of up to 22m, including repair facilities, 70-ton travel lift, storage ashore, and also has a swimming pool, restaurant and chandlery.
