The E arm of the bay is quayed and has the village of Spliska at its head. The W arm is set amidst pine trees with a few houses amongst them. The stone for building Diocletian's palace was quarried near here, and transported from this harbour to Split.
Approach
The inlet can be identified by the light structure on the E headland, although if approaching from E close inshore this does not come into sight until you are nearly abeam of the light. There are no dangers in the approach.
Lights
Fl.R.2s6m2M on the E headland. It is obscured from E by the trees. Note the similarity of the light characteristics of Spliska and Postire.
Berth
Tie-up alongside or bow/stern-to the quay, depending upon the space available. Anchor Anchor in the W arm of the bay. Depths range from 3m at the far end to over 12m.
Shelter
Both parts of the bay are exposed to winds from N. The W arm is exposed to the bora, and the E arm is exposed to NW winds. Both bays are sheltered from E through S to W.
