Uvala Siroka (1st)

44°16".2N 14°46'.3E Charts BA 515, MK 11, Im ray M25 Uvala Siroka cuts nearly lM northwest into Otok Ist. At the head of the bay is a small harbour, which offers excellent facilities for visiting yachts. Mooring buoys have been laid in the bay for visitors. It is justifiably a popular anchorage. This is one of the officially organised anchorages and a mooring fee and visitor's tax are collected.
Approach
From a distance the small white church up on the hill NE of the village is conspicuous. Approaching Uvala Siroka requires care because of the off-lying dangers, none of which is lit. There is a small islet with a beacon on it off the SW headland (Rt Benus}. A shoal patch, marked by an unlit pole beacon, lies midway between the islet and the W entrance to the Prolaz Zapuntel. This pole beacon can be passed on either side, but do not approach it too closely. The position of other dangers in the approach is best seen from the chart. Although there is a light (Fl.G.3s7m4M) exhibited from the head of the mole, approaching Uvala Siroka after dark or in poor visibility is not recommended.
Berth
Visitors' berths have been organised, with pick-up lines, at both the inner and outer moles. Berth bows to, as directed. The ferry uses the outer part of the mole. Anchor Anchoring in the bay is possible, but the holding in sand is unreliable. It is preferable to pick up one of buoys in the bay.
Shelter
Good shelter from W through N to E, but the bay is exposed in S winds.

Facilities
Water and electricity are laid onto both moles. The harbour dues include up to 100 litres of water. A charge is made for any extra. Showers, exchange office. Grocery shop, Post Office and telephone. Restaurants and disco. Ferry service. 44°16'.8N 14°45'.8E Charts BA 57 5, MK 7 7, lmray M25 Uvala Kosiraca cuts SE into the NW coast of Otok 1st, forming a bay which provides a reasonably well sheltered anchorage for yachts. The anchorage is sheltered from all winds except N, NW and strong boras. It is possible to anchor towards the head of the bay, where there are some jetties and bollards along the shore. In a bora take shore lines to these bollards, near which the bottom is sand and weed. Near the jetties the bottom is gravel and weed. Another possible anchorage is on the SW side of the bay on a bottom of gravel and weed. Check that your anchor has dug in well because the holding is unreliable. The main dangers in the approach to Uvala Kosiraca are some unlit islands, which lie about 7 cables NW of the N headland, Rt Kok. An isolated shoal (unmarked) with just 3m over it lies about 8 cables W of Rt Kok. Strong tidal streams run between Otok 1st and Otok Skarda, the next island to the W. Otok Skarda Charts BA 515, MK 11, lmray M25 The small island of Skarda lies NW of Otok 1st and SE of Otok Premuda. The island has a small settlement on the N coast, where there is an exposed anchorage. A better anchorage for yachts (depending on the wind) lies in a bay on the SE side of the island. There is a small 'fortified' residence at the head of this bay, Uvala Griparica. A number of moorings have been laid for visitors. Uvala Griparica
