Uvala Saline

44°03'.7N 15°04'-9E Charts BA 271 1, 515, SC 5767, MK 13, lmray M25 Approximately 1-4 M south of the most northerly point on Otok IZ, on the northwest coast, is a sheltered anchorage. The anchorage, Uvala Soline, has a number of islands lying to the NW, which help locate it and provide a certain amount of shelter from this direction. There are fish farm cages on either side of the island blocking the entrance. Unfortunately, in onshore winds an unpleasant oil slick from these cages is blown into the anchorage. Approaching from N beware of two isolated rocks, just below the surface, lying approximately 7 cables NW of 0. Beli and 7 cables NW of Rt Osiljinac. The rock NW of 0. Beli is marked by a white light structure (Fl(3 )8s7m6M). The light is obscured over 0. Beli and the rock NW of Rt Osiljinac. The islet nearest to Uvala Soline is connected to Otok Iz to the E by a rocky ridge with an above-water rock on it. Approaching from S beware of a below-water rock approximately 2 cables SW of 0. Kudica, the small islet about 2M southeast of Uvala Soline. There is an isolated shoal with just 2m over it approximately 2 cables W of the peninsula separating Uvala Soline from the !Ski Kanai. Its position is best seen from the chart. Uvala Soline is surrounded by trees and bushes and there is a hut on the W side. Anchor in 3m, sand, and take lines ashore in a bora. The anchorage is sheltered from all directions, although some swell does enter in strong NW winds. There are no facilities here.
