43°20'-4N 16°48'.2E Charts BA 2772, 7574, SC 5767, MK 78, 20, lmray M26 Yet another Uvala Luka! This particular Uvala Luka lies on the north coast of Brae, 2M west of Povlja. In its innermost part Uvala Luka is one of the safest and most sheltered anchorages in the Braeki Kanai. At the head of the inlet there is an abandoned farmhouse and some vines, which are still cultivated, and a footpath. A restaurant, with a quay and laid moorings, has been built on the S shore of the central inlet. The S inlet has some mussel beds along its E side.

Approach

Uvala Luka is the westernmost cove in a wide bay, which is entered between Crni Rat to the W and Rt Povlja (on which there is a light) to the E. On entering the bay keep at least 1 cable off Rt Povlja. There are no other dangers in the approach.

Lights

Rt Povlja Fl.3s7m7M Anchor There are several possibilities for anchoring (see plan). The bottom is sand and the holding is good. In a bora take lines ashore for added security. It is also possible to pick up a mooring, or go bow/stern to the restaurant quay if you plan to patronise the restaurant. Harbour dues may be charged.

Shelter

Good all-round shelter. We spent four days in this inlet sheltering from a bora. No swell penetrated into the bay at all.

Facilities

Restaurant. Uvala Luka, on the north coast of Otok Brae, is an excellent anchorage offering all-round shelter. A restaurant (visible in the background) has been established here and has a number of moorings available for customers Povlja
