43°48'N 15°39'.8E Charts BA 271 1, SC 5767, MK 74, 15 Jmray M25 Uvala Gracina is a bay on the mainland coast within the Murterski Kanai. The bay offers a secure overnight anchorage. At the head of the bay are a holiday village and campsite, both of which are clearly visible from seaward. Part of the bay is roped off to form a swimming area. The floating rope can be difficult to see in poor light. Note that a cable lands on the headland to the W of the bay. Anchor in 5-8m. The holding in mud and sand is good. The bay is sheltered from SW through N to E, but is exposed to wind and seas from SE. OTOK MURTER Otok Murter is a small island, approximately 6M long, and 1 .6M wide at its widest point. The island lies close to the mainland, to which it is joined by a low road bridge at Tijesno. The bridge opens to allow the passage of vessels during the summer season. The lighthouse on 0. Prisnjak, off the NW coast of Otok Murter The NW part of the island is fertile, and olives, fruit and vegetables are cultivated. The SE part of the island is characterised by limestone rock and only has sparse vegetation. A few fishing vessels operate from Jezera and Hramina. Otok Murter was inhabited before the Romans arrived. There are the remains of a Roman settlement, known as Colentum, near Betina. The village of Murter lies inland in the NW part of the island and is the main settlement. The administration for the Kornati National Park is based here. The first harbour described is Tijesno, a settlement near the road bridge which connects the island to the mainland. Tijesno (Tisno)
