The town is a major tourist centre, served by hydrofoil, ferries, and numerous excursion boats. The harbour is also busy with visiting yachts and an ACI marina has been established here for their benefit. The marina however is only open from April until October. It is an attractive and interesting town, well worth visiting.

Berth
Go bow/stern-to one of the marina pontoons on the SE side of the harbour as directed. Larger yachts (over 15m) can tie up alongside the central portion of the W quayside. There is however little room here because the harbour is so busy, and you may be directed to another berth by harbour officials.
Shelter
The marina provides good shelter, although in strong S winds and the sirocco there can be a considerable surge in the harbour and the sea level can rise by up to lm. If strong S winds are forecast it may be advisable to seek shelter elsewhere. Otok Rab -Uvala Sv. Fumija

Water, electricity, toilets, showers, laundry facilities, currency exchange facilities, restaurant, supermarket, chandlers, mechanical workshop and 10-ton crane at the marina. Fuel is available from the fuel berth (24 hours a day) on the E side of the harbour (note that there are depths of less than 1m NW of the fuel pier, but 2.5m at the berth itself). There is a good range of food shops in Rab town, including supermarkets and butchers. Daily fruit and vegetable market. Hardware shop selling a limited range of chandlery. Banks, ATMs, Post Office, internet, telephones. Medical centre, pharmacy. Tourist information, hotels, restaurants, cafe/bars. Ferry services and organised excursions. Bus service. History
Rab stands on the site of a Roman settlement and naval harbour, but few traces of the Roman settlement remain. During the 15th century the medieval town on the headland was hit by the plague, which decimated the population. Affected houses were bricked up and some of these are still visible. The old town was gradually abandoned as a new town grew up to the NW. There are many interesting buildings in the new town dating from the 15th to the 18th centuries. Uvala Sv. Fumija
