Postire
General
43°22"6N 16°37'-9E Charts BA 2712, SC 5767, MK 18, lmray M26 The village of Postire is not as tourist orientated as some other parts of Brae, although it does have its Spliska is a small village on the north coast of Otok Brae. It is possible to tie up at the quay here, or anchor in the adjoining bay to the west hotel, and an August festival. A few trawlers are based here. There is also a fish cannery.
Approach
There are no dangers in the approach to Postire. From seaward the village can be recognised by the factory with a tall chimney to the W of the harbour. The light structure on the end of the breakwater is a distinctive cream-coloured stone tower with a domed top.
Lights
Fl.R.2s7m3M from the end of the breakwater. Note that this light is obscured from 259° to 326°. Take care in relying on the 259° angle; since it is cut off by land the exact angle depends on the height of the land! The lights at Spliska and Postire have similar characteristics.
Berth
Tie up alongside the breakwater if there is space, or go bow/stern-to. The inner pier is used by tripper boats.
Shelter
Strong N and NW winds send a surge into the harbour. The harbour is otherwise sheltered from NE through E to W. Top and above Approaching Postire on the north coast of Otok Brae the light structure on the end of the breakwater is distinctive
