45°36'.5N 13°45'.1 E Charts BA 7477, 1473 (detailed), MK 7, lmray M24 The prestigious marina and residential complex of Porto San Rocco, with its shops and swimming pool, has been built on the site of a shipyard. This shipyard, founded in 1858, built vessels, including the cruiser Kaiser Franz Joseph I (launched in 1895), for the Austro-Hungarian empire. The marina, building on its shipbuilding traditions, offers a complete range of services for yachts. The marina has 550 berths and can accommodate vessels of up to 60m in length. The minimum depth in the marina is 4.5m. Approach and Lights Porto San Rocco lies approximately half a mile W of the harbour at Muggia, on the S side of the Baia di Muggia. Facilities
Comprehensive facilities, including water, electricity and television connection points to all berths. Diesel and petrol from the fuel berth located on the W mole in the outer harbour area. Toilets, showers, swimming pool and grocery supplies in the marina. 100-ton hydraulic travel-lift for vessels of up to 7.5m beam, a 22-ton mobile crane, and a 60-ton hydraulic trolley for taking boats into one of the two large hangars. The shipyard can undertake all repairs to hull, engine, sails and electronic components. Bank. Small supermarket up the hill from the marina entrance.
