Approach

The marina is only apparent when comparatively close. The village itself is spread out on flat ground The fuel berth at the marina in Porto San Giorgio beyond the harbour and does not have any conspicuous features. There are a number of tall apartment blocks along this coast, which is being developed for beach holidays. A cluster of these buildings behind the harbour may help identify it. There are a number of gas platforms in this area. The sea is comparatively shallow in the approach to the harbour and entry should not be attempted in strong onshore winds. When entering leave the G buoys to starboard and give the moles and piers a good berth to avoid underwater ballasting.

Berth

Contact the marina on VHF Ch14 for instructions on where to berth. The main S quay is reserved for fishing boats. The marina can accommodate yachts of up to 50m.

Shelter

The marina berths enjoy good all-round shelter.

Officials

The marina staff collect information for the harbourmaster. Harbourmaster's office is located on the road on the W side of the harbour. Police in the town.

Water and electricity to all berths. Fuel berth (open 24 hours) near the entrance. Toilets, showers, launderette. Boatyard offering repair facilities for all hull types, 100-ton travel-lift and 50-ton crane, storage ashore. Repairs to engines, electrical/electronic installations and sails can be carried out. Hotels and restaurants. A fish market, supermarket, pharmacy and chandlers nearby. Other shops, Post Office and bank some distance away from the harbour. Doctor, pharmacy, hospital.
