Porto di Cortellazzo (Marina di Cortellazzo)
General
45°31'.8N 12°43'.7E Charts BA 204 Two marinas have been built on the W bank of Fiume Piave at Porto di Cortellazzo, beyond the fishing boat moorings.
Approach
Porto di Cortellazzo can be difficult to identify from seaward. The most conspicuous features are the fishing gantries, which lean over the river supporting nets. There is a breakwater, with 2F.R(vert}3M light on its end, on the W side of the river entrance. Porto di Cortellazzo should be approached only in good conditions, at high water, and with extreme caution. Silting is a major problem, creating sandbanks and altering the channel. The channel is normally dredged to 3m, but during our 1984 survey (for instance) we encountered depths of less than lm in the entrance. The approach channel is marked by an unlit buoy to seaward and a series of posts.
