There is a deep and sheltered inlet, Uvala Lavsa, which cuts into the N coast of the island. It is a popular anchorage, where overnight mooring is permitted. The entrance to the inlet can be recognised from N by a conspicuous cleft in the cliff, on the E side of the entrance. If you are in any doubt, a notice board on the W headland, with UVALA LAVSA written on it and advertising food, is helpful. Depths near the house on the W side of the inlet are deep (about 24m). Farther in the depths decrease to 4m, opposite the restaurants and cottages on the E side of the inlet. The far end of the inlet is shallow and rocky.
