Larger yachts can anchor S of the harbour.
Shelter
The bay is sheltered from W through N to E, but exposed to S winds. The bora blows with violent squalls here, and it is as well to take lines to one of the bollards if anchored here when a bora is blowing.
Facilities
No public water tap. There is a grocery shop, Post Office, and a restaurant in the village. Ferry to Mali Losinj, Cres, and Rijeka. OTOK LOSINJ Charts BA 202, MK 6, 8, lmray M24 The crescent-shaped island of Losinj is nearly 17M long, and, at its narrowest point, less than a cable wide. It is separated from Otok Cres, a large island lying to the N and E, by an artificial canal. The canal at Osor is spanned by a road bridge, which opens to allow the passage of yachts (see the entry on Osor above). The island of Losinj is not only physically connected to Otok Cres, but has shared most of its history. There are remains of Bronze Age earthworks and Roman villas in various part of Otok Losinj. The island was uninhabited during the early Middle Ages, but later new settlements grew up and reached their greatest prosperity in the 18th century. Tourism has been an important source of income since the 19th century. The island also supports a ship repair yard (next to the marina at Mali Losinj), a small fishing fleet, and some agriculture.
