General

The bay is spacious with a number of quays and piers around its shores. The new Olive Island Marina (Ugljan is derived from ulje the Croatian word for olive oil) is located on the W side of the bay. It is open throughout the year. The bay is not as sheltered as it appears at first sight; the afternoon breeze finds its way in. There is more shelter tied up behind the pier.
Approach
The light on Rt Sv. Grgur, the NE headland at the entrance, helps locate Uvala SutomisCica. The approach and entry are straightforward with no hidden dangers.

Berth
Berth at the marina as directed. Pick-up lines are provided. The marina can accommodate yachts of up to 25m. Tie up alongside the S side of the pier on the E side of the bay (see plan). There is 2.5m here. Anchor Anchor N of the pier mentioned above in 4m. The bottom is mud and the holding good.
Shelter
The bay is sheltered from W through S to E. It is exposed to the bora, but some shelter can be obtained from the bora behind the pier, or anchored close to the NE shore.
Facilities
There is a grocery shop near the pier, which sells fresh bread. Freshly caught fish is sold by local fishermen. The marina has water, electricity, toilets and showers. When fully operational it will also have laundry facilities, a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, mini-market, scooter and bicycle hire, chandlers, repair facilities, 37-ton crane, and 25-ton travel lift. As a useful extra it is proposed to run a private ferry between the marina and Zadar.
