Marina di Orikum
General
40°20'.5N 19°28'.3E A sheltered marina, with good facilities, has been built by an Italian and Albanian partnership in the S part of Gjiri i Vlores, on the E coast of the bay about 6M S of Vlore. The marina has good facilities and can accommodate yachts of up to 20m at present, and up to 30m in the future. The planned capacity is for 700 berths. The marina is protected by a breakwater, lying EW, with the entrance lying at the E end. Two red brick castle-like buildings can be seen behind the wall. The entrance should be approached on a course of 170°, taking care to avoid a wreck with 2.6m lying lOOm NE of the entrance. On entering leave the mole lOm to starboard and follow the buoyed channel. There is said to be a minimum depth of 3m.

Facilities
Water and electricity to all berths. Toilets, showers. Fuel. Technical assistance and first aid available during the summer months. Internet at the marina office. There is a small shop for provisions about 1 km away. In 2006 the cost of a taxi into Vlore was €3, but for €100 you could have the services of a taxi for the whole day to explore the locality.
