Approach

The main dangers in the approach to Luka Zlarin are Plicina Rozenik and PliCina Mali Rozenik, the rock and shoals NW of the most N point of Zlarin. The inner shoal is marked by an unlit E cardinal buoy. There is a narrow passage SE of this with depths of 11 m in the channel. NW of this buoy PliCina Rozenik is marked by a lit beacon Fl.G.5s7m6M light. Within Luka Zlarin note that depths of less than 5m extend up to 1 cable off the E shore. A light Fl.3s8m2M is shown from the end of the ferry pier.

Berth

Within the inlet the long outer pier is used by the car ferry and the occasional small coaster. There is plenty of room on this pier for visiting yachts to tie up stern-to the N side, or alongside the inner part of the S side. Depths range from O.Sm at the root of the pier to well over Sm at the end. Shallow-draught vessels can tie up bow/stern-to one of the inner quays as shown in the plan. Anchor Anchor N or W of the ferry pier in depths of Sm. The bottom is sand and weed, and the holding is good. In a bora take lines ashore for added security.

Shelter

Shelter is good from NE through S to W. The pier is exposed to the afternoon breeze (from NW).

Water and electricity on the outer pier. There is a water tap on the E side of the harbour. General grocery store and a supermarket. Post Office and telephone. Medical centre. Hotel and restaurants. Art gallery and coral museum. Ferry to Sibenik. The island is mainly given over to agriculture. There are two settlements on Otok Prvic, Prvic Luka in a long inlet on the S coast, and Sepurine on the W coast. A famous Croatian scholar and scientist, Faust VranCic, is buried in the 15th-century parish church.
