It is penetrated by two linked bays, which cut nearly 2M southeast into the island. The bay to the W is divided into an outer basin, Zaljev Pantera and a totally enclosed anchorage in Uvala Cuna. A narrow channel, with depths of less than 3m leading past the village of Veli Rat, connects the two parts of this bay. The easternmost of the bays leads SE to the village of Soline. There is an anchorage off the village and another in a sheltered cove, Uvala LuCica, WNW of the village.

Approach

Approaching Luka SolisCica requires care because of the various off-lying dangers. The main danger in the approach is the area of shallows and low islets lying NW of the headlands on the W side of the entrance. The bow section and mast from a wrecked coaster can be seen on the shallows to the NE of these islets. NW of the E headland, Rt Borji, are two islands. There is a rock with just 3m over it between these two islands. In the channel between the outermost of these islands and Otok Molar to the NW there are two comparatively shallow patches (with 1 lm and 6.5m over them), which can create rough seas in bad weather. If approaching Luka Soliscica through the Zverinacki Kanal beware of the dangerous rocks and shallows towards the NW end of the channel. One of these rocks is marked by a light beacon (Fl(2)6s), but the shoals, one with 1.7m located 2 cables NW of the beacon and the other with 4.8m lying just under 2 cables NE of the beacon, are not marked. The position of these dangers is best seen from the chart. Dugi Otok -Bozava marked channel. There are depths of just over 3m in this channel, which is marked by stakes with metal basket topmarks, and large concrete bases. At times a strong current, which can be up to 3kns, may be encountered. There is a small-boat harbour at the village. Small boats are moored on the inside of the piers, but it may be possible to moor alongside the outside of the L-shaped pier. The village has a general grocery store and a telephone kiosk as well as a restaurant and cafe/bar. The bus service from the village links up with the main ferry service to the island. There are a couple of restaurants on the E side of the channel, which have quays for customers, and a shop.
