Civitanova

43°18'-7N 13°43'-8E Charts BA 220, 200 The harbour at Civitanova has been dredged and extensive improvements have been carried out. A large fishing fleet is based here and there are several fishing boat repair yards. The sailing club has pontoons and moorings on the W side of the harbour and welcomes visitors.
Approach
Civitanova can be recognised by a prominent circular church tower, surmounted by a spire. Closer in, the harbour walls are apparent. A number of oil and gas platforms lie between 2 and 3M offshore in the vicinity of Civitanova. When approaching the harbour entrance beware of underwater ballasting extending from the seaward E mole. Keep to the centre of the channel, and once round the G light on the Molo Nord, head towards the floating pontoons on the W side of the harbour. The harbour is subject to silting so depths The main light at Civitanova is exhibited from the tall circular tower, which overlooks the boat yards and yacht berths may be less than charted. Vessels over 18m in length are not allowed to enter.

Berth
Secure to the W mole near the yacht club if space permits (beware of underwater ballasting) or berth at the yacht club pontoon. The E part of the harbour is used by fishing boats. Note that there is an underwater cable between the head of the spur on the Molo Est and the Molo Sud. In bad weather when surge is a problem, this cable is raised from the harbour bottom. Anchor E of the moorings in a convenient depth.
Shelter
Good shelter from all directions except N and NE. Strong winds from these directions raise a surge in the harbour.
