Beyond the lifting bridge there is another new development with berths. The scenery in the vicinity of Cattolica starts to become more interesting with a ridge of high land approaching the sea to the E. There is a castle on a hill to the SE of the town. Beyond the lifting footbridge at Cattolica are a boat building yard, small marina, and local river moorings
Approach
The ridge of high land helps locate Cattolica from a distance. Closer in a tall red-brick chimney in the town is conspicuous. The light structure at the root of the-E mole is a metal, four-legged tower painted with black and white bands, and is distinctive. The sea off Cattolica is comparatively shallow for some distance. Beware of some rocks with only 1 .8m over them, which lie 2 cables offshore and a short distance to the NE of the E breakwater. These rocks are not marked in any way. Approaching the harbour in strong onshore winds, especially the bora, is extremely dangerous. Charted depths in the entrance channel and port are given as 2.7m to 3m, but beware of depths being less than this because of silting.

Berth
Until the marina is completed it is a question of trying to find space, either alongside the quay upstream of the entrance to the inner basin, squeezed in amongst the fishing boats in the inner basin, or possibly in the new development beyond the lifting bridge.

No water easily available on the quayside. Petrol only from a filling station in the town. Grocery stores, baker, butchers, fish market, fruit and vegetable market. Hardware stores. Launderette. Post Office, telephones, banks, ATMs. Tourist information, hotels, restaurants, cafe/bars, museum, art gallery, cinemas, aquarium. Doctors, dentist, hospital, first-aid post, pharmacies. Railway station, bus service, taxis. Repairs to engme, electrical/electronic installations, and sails are possible. Large travel hoist at the yard beyond the lifting bridge.
