The village is on the E side of a promontory. On the W side of the promontory there is a fishing boat and yacht repair yard with a marina. Betina has had a shipyard for over 250 years.

Approach

Betina harbour lies on the E coast of Otok Murter, at the N entrance to the channel, which leads SE to the road bridge at Tijesno. Beware of the rock off the headland, Rt Artie, just N of the village of Betina. The rock, at the end of a shallow spit connecting it to Rt Artie, has an unlit beacon or shrine on it. The approach to the harbour is otherwise straightforward. Marina Betina in the bay to the W of Betina is easily identified -its name is written on the breakwater! If entering the bay where the marina is located, beware of the unlit green concrete beacon on the NW side of the bay. Pass between the beacon and the head of the breakwater.

Berth

At Betina marina as directed. Some berths are bow/stern-to the concrete pontoons, others are alongside. The small outer harbour at Betina village, enclosed by the short breakwater on which there is the light, is fenced off as a water polo area. The inner harbour is qowded with small local craft. Visiting yachts should tie up alongside or bow/stern-to the outside of the wall that divides the two parts of the harbour. Anchor Anchor just E of the harbour in Sm. The bottom is mud.

Shelter

The marina enjoys all-round shelter. The harbour is sheltered from N through W to S.

Facilities

There is a grocery store in the village as well as several cafe/bars. Post Office and telephones. Internet cafe in Betina village. Other facilities are available from either Murter or Hramina. There is a small boatyard just S of the harbour. Water, electricity, toilets, showers, restaurant, laundry facilities and chandlers are available at the marina. The marina is part of a ship repair yard, and hence facilities for repairing yachts are excellent. There are 20-ton and 260-ton travel-lifts, cranes and slipway.
