Puntamika Beach - Zadar, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's profile is shaped by its 20-meter width and moderate depth increase, creating a gradient that transitions from pebbles to boulders beneath the surface. This geological composition influences both accessibility and activity potential. The gray pebble cover contrasts with the clear waters reported by visitors, creating a visually striking shoreline that reflects Zadar's coastal character. Its positioning along the city's waterfront makes it a convenient stop for those exploring Zadar's historic sites and marina.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Puntamika Beach present unique challenges due to the rocky seabed. Reviewers note the need for aqua shoes to navigate the smaller rocks and boulders, which can make entry into the water less straightforward. The moderate depth increase creates a gradual slope, though the presence of larger stones may limit the beach's appeal for casual swimmers. Clear water visibility, however, remains a consistent feature according to visitor accounts.Facilities and activities
While no formal amenities are listed in the beach's authoritative features, visitors have noted the absence of public restrooms. The beach's primary attractions lie in its natural setting and the activities it supports. Windsurfing and water entertainment are explicitly associated with the location, suggesting opportunities for nautical recreation. The beach's proximity to Zadar's marina may enhance its appeal for those combining land and water activities.Access and location
Located at 5 Ulica Vlahe Bukovca in Zadar, Puntamika Beach benefits from its urban positioning. However, parking challenges emerge during peak hours, with reviewers reporting near-impossibility to find spaces after 10 AM. This limitation underscores the importance of arriving early for those planning to spend extended time at the beach. The beach's direct connection to Zadar's coastal promenade makes it easily accessible for pedestrians and cyclists exploring the city's waterfront. What visitors say
Visitors have shared varied experiences at Puntamika Beach. One reviewer highlighted the "quiet night ride by the sea" and the "sea smell" as memorable aspects of their stay in Zadar. Others noted the beach's cleanliness and maintenance, though the rocky terrain required careful navigation. A 2018 review emphasized the lack of public restrooms and limited parking, while a 2023 visitor appreciated the clear water and peaceful environment. These accounts collectively paint a picture of a beach that offers natural beauty and recreational opportunities despite its physical challenges.
Practical tips
Visitors should plan for limited parking availability, particularly during midday hours. Aqua shoes are recommended for navigating the rocky shoreline. The beach's cleanliness and maintenance suggest it is well-kept, though facilities like restrooms are absent. Arriving early can help secure parking and avoid the busiest times.

Reviews
I just loved Zadar. That quiet night ride by the sea was amazing. The food and the sea smell too
Nice beach close to the marina. Rocky beach, but with clear water. Calm and peaceful environment. I advise you to take your own shoes to enter the sea (aqua shoes).
Nice public beach, getting in the water is not so easy since the seabed is filled with smaller rocks and bigger stones instead of pebble. There are no public restrooms. The beach is clean and well taken care of, parking is very limited, basically impossible to park after 10am. Zadar
