Plaza Skamp Beach, Croatia
Beach character
Plaza Skamp is a 30-meter-long beach with a narrow width of 10 meters, characterized by its predominant surface of beige pebbles. The sea floor consists of boulders, and the depth increases moderately, creating conditions suitable for snorkeling but less ideal for swimming in deeper areas. The beach is flanked by mountains, offering a dramatic landscape that contrasts with the pebble shore. The water is noted for its clarity, ranging from green to blue tones, though some visitors have reported litter along the shore, which affects the overall cleanliness rating.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Plaza Skamp are influenced by the pebble beach and boulder-strewn sea floor. The water is described as clear and cold, with some reviewers noting the presence of fish and poseidonia (sea grass). However, the beach's pebble composition may make it less comfortable for prolonged swimming. The shore is relatively quiet, with a few visitors mentioning that the area remains less crowded even during high season, though parking availability is limited to a few vehicles.Facilities and activities
Plaza Skamp lacks formal amenities such as showers, toilets, or umbrellas. However, the beach is associated with snorkeling, allowing visitors to explore the underwater environment. A few reviewers mentioned an old fireplace grill near the beach, which could be used for cooking. Access to the beach is via a narrow road, which is asphalted but may pose challenges for larger vehicles like campervans.Access and location
Plaza Skamp is located in Trstenik, a village on the Peljesac Peninsula in Croatia. The beach is accessible via a narrow asphalt road, with parking available for a limited number of vehicles. Its proximity to Dubrovnik-Neretva adds to its appeal for those exploring the region. The beach is part of a larger coastal area that includes other settlements and natural attractions, making it a potential stop for travelers navigating the Dalmatian Coast. What visitors say
Visitor reviews present a mixed picture of Plaza Skamp. Some highlight the beach's clear waters, scenic mountain views, and the opportunity for snorkeling. Others note the presence of litter and the limited parking, which can be a drawback during peak times. One reviewer described the beach as 'wonderful' with 'crystal clear' water, while another criticized the 'rubbish left behind and washed up.' Despite these challenges, several visitors returned multiple times, indicating that the beach's natural beauty and relative seclusion outweigh its shortcomings for many.Practical tips
Visitors should bring sufficient food and drink, as parking is limited and the beach may lack nearby facilities. Arriving early can help secure parking and avoid the busiest times. The beach's pebble surface may require sturdy footwear for comfort. While snorkeling is a notable activity, swimmers should be mindful of the boulder-strewn sea floor.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
The beach itself and its location are greatβοΈππΌββοΈποΈ. Clear, fresh water, quiet, parking available, but coming on time is not a mistake. Be sure to take enough food and drink with you. The only drawback: the rubbish left behind and washed up. It's a shame that some people still don't understand it π’
A special pebble beach (there is room for a few) there was a chalet before, unfortunately where you park your car many uncivilized people have passed by, fortunately the sea is crystal clear from green to blue, cold water, breeze, poseidonia and lots of fish, the shade comes around 6.30pm, we went back twice because it's wonderful!!!!
Beautiful beach with turquoise water, rocky beach, unfortunately very polluted, wonderful water, access via a narrow road by the sea, but the campervan made it, asphalt road
Nice little beach! Clear water, medium-fine gravel, little visited even in high season! Beautiful rock formations with shade in the afternoon, parking for a few vehicles opposite! Just past Villa GrgiΔ and down the path! There is even an old fireplace grill that you could use β¨οΈπ₯π₯©πππ₯π Dubrovnik-Neretva
