Plaza Perna Beach - Hvar, Croatia
Beach character
The beach’s natural profile is defined by its straight shoreline and smooth gradient into the sea, with a seabed composed of sand and pebbles. The surrounding landscape is dominated by limestone cliffs and low-lying hills, creating a stark contrast to the pale sand. Depth increases gradually, making entry into the water gentle. The beach’s orientation offers unobstructed views toward Korčula Town across the channel, a visual highlight noted by visitors.Swimming and shore
The beach’s gentle slope and shallow waters make it accessible for swimmers, though the pebble-strewn sections may require a towel for comfort. The sea floor’s composition supports clear visibility, though water clarity is not explicitly documented. The beach’s exposure to afternoon winds creates ideal conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with local schools offering equipment rental. Kayaking is also available, as noted in structured activity listings.Facilities and activities
No formal amenities such as showers, toilets, or changing rooms are documented, though parking is available along the road leading to the beach. The absence of structured facilities means visitors should plan accordingly. The beach’s proximity to campsites and the presence of recreational vehicles nearby suggest a more informal, outdoor-oriented atmosphere. Kayaking is the only explicitly listed activity, though windsurfing and kitesurfing are frequently observed.Access and location
Plaza Perna is accessible via a road leading to Uljeni Bok, with parking spaces available along the route. Its location near campsites and the absence of marked entrances or gates imply easy access for visitors. The beach is part of a broader coastal stretch that connects to Hvar Town and the Pelješac Peninsula, with no immediate ferry routes or major roadways nearby. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight the beach’s scenic quality and dynamic activities. One visitor noted its status as "one of the most beautiful beaches in the Orebic area," while another described it as "a small lovely beach with lots of kite surfers." The beach’s appeal lies in its natural setting and the contrast between its tranquil mornings and lively afternoons, when wind sports dominate. Parking availability is frequently mentioned, though reviewers caution that spaces may fill quickly during peak hours.Practical tips
Arrive early to secure parking along the road. The pebbly sections of the beach may require a towel for comfort. Afternoon winds create ideal conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing, but these activities may limit swimming space during peak hours. The beach’s proximity to campsites means it can be busy with recreational vehicles, particularly in summer.Exploring the coast by yacht
For sailors exploring the Hvar region, Plaza Perna’s location near the Pelješac Peninsula offers a strategic vantage point for coastal navigation. The nearby anchorages of Hvar Town and the broader Dalmatian coast provide options for yacht charters seeking to combine land and sea experiences. The beach’s exposure to winds makes it a useful reference point for sailors assessing conditions before heading further along the coast.Views and Regional Context
The beach’s orientation provides clear sightlines toward Korčula Town, a historic destination across the channel. This vantage point is particularly notable during sunset, when the interplay of light on the sea and cliffs creates a striking visual. The surrounding area is part of Hvar’s eastern coastline, a region characterized by rugged terrain and smaller, less-developed beaches compared to the island’s western shores.Anchorages in the surrounding area

Reviews
One of the most beautiful beaches in the Orebic area. You can park along the street leading to the beach.
July 2022, 11 a.m. Not many people. Relax. Beach with small stones, gentle entry into the water, good for children. The sun practically all day long, it does not hide behind the mountains of the peninsula. There are several parking spaces at the entrance. The beach is next to the campsites, many people are in their campers, tents, houses, and not on the beach. There are windsurfing schools on the beach, it is very windy in the afternoons, a lot of people go sailboarding or kitesurfing. There is no wind before noon. You can rent a sup board or a kayak. I haven't noticed any toilets or changing rooms yet. A very nice place.
It is a small lovely beach with lots of kite surfers. Great views on Korčula town.
