Plaza Mala Luka Beach, Croatia
Plaza Mala Luka, located on Put Nemire in Omiš, Croatia, is a small but distinctive beach characterized by its multi-cove structure and natural landscape. Nestled between mountainous terrain and a pine forest, the beach offers a mix of pebbles and sand, with a sharp increase in water depth near the shore. While it lacks formal amenities, its proximity to Omiš and the surrounding Adriatic coastline makes it a notable spot for visitors and sailors alike.
Beach character
The beach spans 240 meters in length and 20 meters in width, with a predominantly beige pebble-covered seabed that transitions to sand further from the shore. Natural shade is provided by the surrounding pine forest and cliffs, creating a sheltered environment. The sharp depth increase upon entering the water makes it particularly suitable for children, though the pebbles may pose challenges for those with mobility issues. Visitor reviews consistently note the clarity of the water and the beach's relative tranquility compared to neighboring areas.
Swimming and shore
The shallow, gradually deepening waters near the shore make Plaza Mala Luka a safe swimming spot for children, though the pebble seabed may require caution. Further from the shore, sand patches appear, offering softer footing. The beach's natural contours create small inlets and rocky areas, which snorkelers and divers can explore. The absence of formal facilities means visitors should bring their own supplies, though the pine forest provides ample shade for relaxation.
Facilities and activities
Plaza Mala Luka lacks structured amenities such as showers, toilets, or parking, as noted by some visitors. However, its natural features support a range of activities, including snorkeling, diving, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and surfing. The beach's rocky inlets and clear waters attract marine life, making it a popular spot for underwater exploration. The nearby pine forest and cliffs also provide opportunities for walking and picnicking.
Access and location
Access to Plaza Mala Luka is via a walking trail, as highlighted by one reviewer. The beach is situated in Omiš, a coastal town on the Adriatic Sea, and is part of the Split-Dalmatia region. Its proximity to Supetar, a well-known sailing and tourist hub, places it within a popular sailing area. The beach's location offers easy access to other attractions in the region, including historical sites in Omiš and the broader Dalmatian coast.
What visitors say
Visitors consistently praise Plaza Mala Luka for its clear waters, quiet atmosphere, and natural beauty. One reviewer described it as a "stunning swimming spot" with "really clear water" and "plenty of sunny and shaded rocks to relax on." Others highlighted the beach's "tiny" yet "beautiful" character, with a "pine forest" providing shade and a "lot of shade on the sides on the cliffs." Snorkelers have noted large schools of fish and rocky inlets to explore, while some visitors mentioned the absence of formal facilities as a minor drawback.
Practical tips
Given the pebble-covered seabed, visitors may want to wear water shoes for comfort. The beach's natural shade from the pine forest is a plus, but bring sunscreen and hydration supplies as there are no on-site facilities. Arrive early to enjoy the quieter atmosphere, and explore the nearby pine forest trails for additional scenic views.

Reviews
You will find this amazing spot direct after the walking trail.
Stunning swimming spot in Supetar. Really clear water, quiet compared to neighbouring beaches. Pebble entrance to the water but then some sand spots you can stand on once in
A beautiful, small beach near a pine forest, lots of shade and plenty of places to walk.
Great place for snorkelling, large schools of fish and lots of rocky inlets to explore. This cove is less busy than the neighbouring cove and there are plenty of sunny and shaded rocks to relax on. The water remains shallow for quite a way and it’s easy to get in and out of the water.
A tiny beach with sand at the bottom of the sea, a shore of stones without shade. a lot of shade on the sides on the cliffs, high pine forests, no shower or toilet, few people. Crabs live here on the cliffs in the stones Split-Dalmatia
