Plaza Kava Slatine Beach: A Quiet Escape on the Dalmatian Coast, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's pebbly shoreline extends 10 meters wide, with a moderate depth increase that makes swimming feasible but not ideal for toddlers. Natural shade from nearby vegetation provides respite from the sun, though there are no structured amenities like umbrellas or sunbeds. Visitor reviews consistently note the beach's uncrowded nature during high season, with cleanliness described as 'good' by the catalog. It is recommended for travelers with dogs, nudists, and those seeking a raw, unspoiled coastal experience.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions are defined by the pebbly seabed and moderate depth gradient. The beach is particularly suited for snorkeling, with reviewers highlighting clear waters and underwater visibility. The lack of sand means barefoot walking is not ideal, but the pebbles are generally smooth. Depth increases gradually, making it accessible for confident swimmers but less suited for those preferring shallow waters.Facilities and activities
There are no structured facilities such as showers, toilets, or food vendors. A single bar near the parking area offers drinks but no meals, requiring visitors to bring their own food. Snorkeling is the primary activity, with reviewers noting abundant marine life. The absence of formal amenities reinforces the beach's character as a rustic, low-impact destination.Access and location
Access requires navigating a narrow, rocky road that terminates at a parking area shaded by trees. Visitors walk a 10-minute path to the beach, with some reporting challenges from oncoming traffic on the road. Parking is available at the end of the asphalt stretch, though the route may be inconvenient for those with mobility limitations. The beach is located on the mainland near Slatine, part of the Split-Dalmatia region, and is accessible via road networks connecting to Split and nearby islands. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently praise the beach's tranquility, with one noting, 'enough space for families, kids and lovers.' Multiple visitors highlighted the uncrowded atmosphere, with one describing it as 'a place to be out of people.' However, access challenges are frequently mentioned: 'the road is a little bit tricky' and 'meeting other cars on the way back.' Despite these hurdles, the beach's natural beauty and snorkeling opportunities make it a repeat destination for some visitors.Practical tips
Bring your own food and water, as there are no restaurants or food vendors. Allow 10 minutes for the walk from the parking area, and be prepared for potential traffic on the narrow road. The beach is best suited for those seeking solitude and snorkeling, rather than families requiring extensive amenities.Exploring the coast by yacht
Located on the mainland near Slatine, Plaza Kava Slatine is part of the Split-Dalmatia sailing region, which includes popular anchorages and marinas along the Adriatic coast. While the beach itself is not a marina, it lies within proximity to sailing routes that connect to nearby islands like Brač and Hvar. Charter guests exploring the area may find it a scenic stop, though the beach's rustic nature makes it more suited for leisurely visits than as a primary anchorage.Best Times to Visit
The beach's 'moderate' crowd index during high season suggests it is less likely to be overcrowded than other Dalmatian beaches. Early mornings, such as the 8:30 AM visit noted by one reviewer, offer near-exclusive access.Anchorages in the surrounding area

Reviews
Amazing calm place to whom who wants to be out of people, enough space for families, kids and lovers:)
The beach is cool, but it is hard to get to with car
This beach really caught our hearts and eyes also. It is mostly about preferences but our were fullfilled. Beautiful nature, untached beach with not so many people. It is true though that the road is a little bit tricky but for us it did not mind. We parked the car at the end of the asphalt road in the shadow of a tree. We walked a nice walk with lots of picturesque views and really enjoyed it. The walk lasts 10 minutes. You can overcome the lots of unconvenient situations meeting other cars on the way back. The road is very rocky and narrow. There is one bar with only drinks but pretty enough. You should take your own food because there is nothing to eat. There is also no toilets. So yes, maybe it does seems a little odd but for people who prefer to be in quiet, raw place with lots of snorkling options this is the right choice. We even decided to go here 3 times in a row and 3 times have a same place which can not happen in places like Copacabana beach or Labadosa beach, also situated on Ciovo island. Once we came at 8.30 am and we were the only people there. It wqs fantastic. So for us 5 stars.
Great beach with a little adventurous way to get there. Brilliant view, clean water and fewer people than expected. Split-Dalmatia
