Plaza Kamenjara Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach is characterized by its exposed, rocky terrain and absence of artificial structures. The shoreline is composed of large, flat boulders that extend into the sea, creating a natural platform for sunbathing and water activities. Depth increases gradually, with the sea floor also consisting of boulders. This topography contributes to moderate wave action, making it suitable for snorkeling but less ideal for calm swimming. Natural shade is limited, though the boulders provide some relief from direct sunlight.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Plaza Kamenjara vary with the season. During high season, the beach sees moderate crowds, though reviews note it can be empty in late autumn. The water is described as 'crystal clear' and 'warm,' with snorkelers praising the visibility and abundance of marine life. However, the beach's exposed nature means waves can be rough, particularly in summer. The flat boulders near the shore are ideal for wading and exploring, though the lack of sheltered areas may deter those seeking tranquil waters.Facilities and activities
There are no formal facilities at Plaza Kamenjara, such as showers, toilets, or lifeguard services. Visitors are advised to bring their own supplies, as one reviewer noted the area is 'primitive' and requires a picnic basket. The beach is accessible via a walking trail from Soline Beach, a 5-minute walk, or by quad rental in Hvar Town (a 1-hour ride). While no structured activities are listed, the beach's natural features support snorkeling and sunbathing.Access and location
Plaza Kamenjara is located in Vrboska, near the Soline Beach, which offers parking options. Visitors can walk the 5-minute trail from Soline or use a quad rental in Hvar Town, though this requires a 1-hour journey. The beach is part of a broader network of coastal trails and settlements in the Split-Dalmatia region, connecting to other attractions like Hvar Town and the islands of Hvar and Brac. Its location makes it a convenient stop for those exploring the area by land or sea. What visitors say
Reviewers highlight contrasting experiences at Plaza Kamenjara. In November, the beach was described as 'empty save for a few fishermen,' with one visitor noting the 'stone cliffs and no shade' but appreciating the raw, unspoiled environment. Others in September and August praised the 'crystal clear water,' 'phenomenal snorkeling,' and 'best beach in Vrboska.' However, challenges include the need to walk from Soline Beach and the area's 'primitive' setup, requiring visitors to bring their own food and supplies. One reviewer noted the beach's FKK (nude) designation is 'somewhat difficult to visit,' though this does not detract from its natural appeal.
Practical tips
Bring a picnic basket and water for hydration, as there are no on-site facilities. Consider renting a quad in Hvar Town for easier access, though this requires planning for the 1-hour journey. Snorkeling gear is recommended for exploring the clear waters. The beach is best visited during off-peak seasons for fewer crowds and a more tranquil experience.

Reviews
I have visited it in November with sup when it was empty save few fishermen. Stone cliffs and no shade, also sea can be very rough but I like it like that.
Recently visited in September 2023. FKK (Nude Beach) Somewhat difficult to visit. If you have a vehicle, park near the restaurant, then walk to the area. Stayed in Hvar Town. Rented a quad (4 wheeler) in Hvar Town and rode there. Takes about an hour to get there but the ride through the island is wonderful. Great option as it is legal to ride on the public roads with a quad and able to go off road to get to the beach area. Plenty of large, flat boulders near shaded areas to setup a day of bathing, sunning, and relaxing. Bring a picnic basket as the area is primitive. Phenomenal snorkeling! Water is crystal clear, warm, deep, and filled with sea life. Highly recommend a visit…👍🏼
Clear water and an awesome view of the main land. It is located 5 mins walk from the Soline beach and it is on a cool walking trail.

Lovely views, mountains, deep and crystal clear water...pine forest...what else do you need? Split-Dalmatia
