Plaza Javorna Beach - Veli Lošinj, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its cove shape, formed by steep cliffs that rise sharply from the shoreline. The pebble surface extends for approximately 20 meters at its widest point, with scattered rocks creating natural pools and shallow water zones. The surrounding landscape includes forested slopes and limestone outcrops that contribute to the area's dramatic vistas. Depth increases gradually from the shore, though the seabed's boulder-strewn nature makes it unsuitable for certain water activities.Swimming and shore
Snorkeling is the primary water activity, with clear visibility revealing the rocky seabed's marine life. The beach's natural rock formations create microhabitats for marine species, though the boulders may pose challenges for swimmers. The shore's pebble composition requires careful navigation, with some areas featuring sharper stones. The beach's orientation provides partial shade from the cliffs during midday, though sun protection is essential.Facilities and activities
No formal facilities exist at the beach itself, including restrooms, showers, or food vendors. However, the area supports camping with designated zones for tents, though setup requires climbing short slopes. The beach is explicitly naturist-friendly, with visitors reporting relaxed attitudes toward nudity. Snorkeling equipment is not provided on-site, but the clear waters make it ideal for exploring marine life.Access and location
The beach is accessible via two main routes: a 30-40 minute walk from Veli Lošinj bay along a well-marked path that follows the coastline, or a shorter route from the Church of Sv. Nikolaj in Veli Lošinj. Cyclists can also reach the beach via the Rovenska path. No parking is available at the beach itself, requiring visitors to use public transport or bike from nearby settlements. What visitors say
Visitors consistently highlight the beach's natural beauty and unique features. One reviewer noted the 'hot air trapped on small stones in the middle of the beach, creating 10-15°C temperature differences,' while another described the 'turquoise blue water and well-marked hiking paths.' Multiple reports confirm the naturist-friendly atmosphere, with one visitor stating, 'Noone cares if you are undressed or dressed.' However, several mentions of 'poor cleanliness' and the need to 'bring enough water and food' indicate the beach's rustic character.
Practical tips
Bring sufficient water and food as no refreshments are available on-site. Use caution when navigating the pebble shoreline, and be aware of temperature variations between shaded and sun-exposed areas. Camping requires designated zones, and visitors should follow information signs for pet-friendly areas. The beach's naturist policy is widely respected but not enforced.

Reviews
3rd favourite beach on Losinj island. Coming here every year. Noticing that it is becoming more popular. Still not overcrowded though. We call it Jumpers beach. Nice rocks to Jump from. Some crazy folks stay on the small stones in the middle where it is 10 to 15 celsius hotter than on the southern shadowy side. Hot air gets trapped there and the stones get very hot. Do not make that mistake.
Nice place to relax on pebble beach. You can also find a place on the rocks near the beach to sunbathe without clothes. Noone cares if you are undressed or dressed. It takes 30-40 minutes walk from Veli Losinj bay.
Awesome bay with pebble beach and turquoise blue water. Can be reached on foot or with bicycle from Rovenska (Veli Losinj) - path goes by the sea. Or on foot from church of Sv. Nikolaj (Veli Losinj). Both paths are well marked. No bars /restaurants at the beach so take enough water and food with you.
Wonderful bay with crystal clear water. I recommend to walk across the shorelines, best early since there is little shadow. The bay offers plenty of spaces in with shadow and perfect spots to enter to water👍 It takes roughly 30 minutes from the harbour
At the bottom is a flat surface, just enough place for few tents, although descending and climbing took some time it was partly protected by tree shade. Primorje-Gorski Kotar
