Plaza Jablanova Beach, Croatia
Located on the northern coast of Krk Island, Croatia, Plaza Jablanova Beach offers a unique blend of natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. This 90-meter-long pebble beach sits between mountainous terrain and the Adriatic Sea, with a gentle depth gradient making it accessible for families. While it's a popular spot for naturists and pet owners, visitors should note its location near the Bunculuka nudist camp and the need for a short walk from nearby parking areas.
Beach character
Plaza Jablanova's shoreline consists of beige pebbles, creating a distinct texture underfoot. The beach is flanked by cliffs and mountains, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The seabed is covered in medium-sized pebbles, which may pose challenges for those with mobility issues. Depth increases smoothly from the shore, making it a safe option for children and non-swimmers. The beach is explicitly marked as clothing-optional, with nudist activity reported in visitor reviews. Dogs are permitted, though specific designated areas are indicated by on-site signage.
Swimming and shore
The beach's gradual depth increase ensures safe entry for all swimmers. The pebbly seabed provides a stable surface for standing, though it may not be ideal for those seeking sandy beaches. Water clarity is generally good, with reviews noting clean conditions during visits. The shore's orientation allows for partial shade from the cliffs, though sun protection is recommended during peak hours. Kayaking and snorkeling are popular activities in the surrounding waters, with opportunities to explore nearby coves and marine life.
Facilities and activities
There are no official amenities listed for the beach itself, but nearby facilities include a beach bar offering basic drinks and snacks. Parking options are available near the Bunculuka nudist camp, though fees apply (€20/day for general parking, €10/day for private lots). A small grocery store exists in the town of Baška, and souvenir shops line the waterfront. Activities include kayaking, snorkeling, and water-based entertainment. Visitors should note that toilets and showers are available but require payment (€1 per toilet use, 50 cents for 30 seconds of shower time).
Access and location
Plaza Jablanova is accessible via a 20-30 minute walk from Baška town center, passing through the Bunculuka nudist camp. The nearest parking is located near the camp, with fees applying. Hiking trails from the camp to the beach are available, though the descent involves rocky terrain requiring sturdy footwear. The beach is part of Krk Island's coastal network, with nearby anchorages and marinas accessible via the island's road system. The coordinates (44.9674, 14.77772) place it within the broader sailing area of the northern Adriatic.
What visitors say
Reviews highlight both the beach's natural beauty and logistical challenges. One visitor described it as 'the most beautiful beach we found on Krk Island,' while others noted the 'unpleasant music in the background.' The beach is consistently praised for its accessibility to non-swimmers and its clothing-optional policy. However, multiple reviewers mentioned the steep, rocky path to the beach and the paid facilities (toilets, showers). One visitor recommended arriving before 9 AM to secure prime spots, while another noted the 'paid toilet' and 'paid shower' inconveniences. The beach's proximity to Baška town and its connection to the nudist camp create a unique social atmosphere.
Practical tips
Bring sturdy footwear for the rocky path to the beach. Plan for €20/day parking near the Bunculuka camp. Toilets and showers require payment (€1 and 50 cents respectively). Arrive early to secure shaded areas near the water. Note that the beach bar offers limited menu options at slightly elevated prices. The nearby town of Baška has a grocery store and souvenir shops for last-minute purchases.

Reviews
The most beautiful beach we found on Krk Island. On top of that, there were also places to lie down in the shade. The only aspect we disliked was the unpleasant music in the background. If you can accept less/no shade but without music simply keep walking away from Baška to the next beach. Also beautiful but less busy and quieter.
Beautiful clothing optional beach next to the beautiful nudist camp Bunculuka. Nice hiking from the camp to the beach. Has natural shade in the background. A couple of other smaller clothing optional beaches around as well. Will come back again for sure. Олечка Тітарєва
I really liked the beach, it is relatively clean, the water is clean. A good entry into the water without sharp drops. Near the beach there is a parking lot for 20 euros a day, there is also a private parking for 10 euros a day. Cafes where you can eat or have a snack, the prices are slightly higher than in ordinary cities. In the city of Bashka there is a grocery store, along the embankment there are many small shops with souvenirs. Housing prices are different. Apartments can be rented on the day of arrival. Of the minuses, a paid toilet is 1 euro per visit and a paid shower is 50 cents for up to 30 seconds. It is really not convenient, because payment is only in coins. We were at the beginning of September, the temperature of the water and air was comfortable for relaxation, there are many people, but if you come to the beach before 9 in the morning, it is fashionable to take good places for relaxation near the water.
It is definitely a pretty beach, but it is very difficult to get there in the heat. The nearest parking is next to the camping (and it costs 20 euro per day!!) and then it is a 30-minute walk. Go with sneakers because the descent to the beach is rocky, and you can hurt yourself. Once you are there, it is worth it. There is a small beach bar with basic drinks. There is a bathroom, but you have to flush it with a bucket of sea water 😅 So it is better to go to bushes. Clothing is optional. We liked it there but would not go again.
The best beach in Baška. Very cool atmoshere, music playing from the bar where you can buy drinks and chips. You can easily find a place during the busy season too. A lot of shade if needed. Easily reachable from the city of Baška, 20-25 minutes walk when you pass through the nudist beach. Optional beach which we appreciated a lot. Primorje-Gorski Kotar
