Plaza Grabov Rat Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's predominant surface consists of black sand mixed with pebbles, creating a textured shoreline that contrasts with the smooth depth increase into the sea. Cliffs rise directly behind the beach, offering natural vantage points for observing the Adriatic's shifting light conditions. The beach is explicitly marked as nudist-friendly, with visitor reports confirming a strict enforcement of this policy. This designation makes it a distinctive destination within Croatia's coastal landscape, where such beaches remain relatively uncommon.Swimming and shore
The beach's depth increases gradually and smoothly, making it suitable for children and non-swimmers. The seabed is covered in fine pebbles, providing a stable surface for snorkeling - an activity explicitly noted in the beach's structured activities list. The clear water quality, repeatedly mentioned in visitor reviews, enhances underwater visibility, though the pebbly substrate may require caution for those unaccustomed to such conditions.Facilities and activities
No structured amenities are listed for the beach itself. Visitor reports confirm the absence of showers, changing rooms, or direct beachside food services. The nearest facilities require a 5-10 minute walk along David cesta to Bol's town center. The sole structured activity available is snorkeling, though the pebble-strewn seabed may present challenges for less experienced snorkelers.Access and location
The beach is reached via a short walk from David cesta 125, with parking options available in the street above the beach or at neighboring beaches near the monastery. This positioning places it within easy reach of Bol's main settlement while maintaining a degree of separation from the more crowded coastal areas. The beach's location on Brac Island situates it within a sailing region known for its dramatic coastline and sheltered bays. What visitors say
Visitors have reported a consistently enforced nudist policy, with one reviewer noting a dedicated individual who monitored compliance and even placed a flip-flop with 'nudists only' written on it at the entrance. Despite this strictness, the beach maintains a welcoming atmosphere for those adhering to the rules.
Multiple reviews highlight the beach's clear waters and scenic cliffs, with one visitor calling it 'one of the most beautiful beaches in Brac.' However, the limited size and need to carry provisions for food and drink are recurring practical considerations mentioned in reviews.
Practical tips
- Bring sufficient food and drink, as no beachside services are available
- Be prepared for a short walk to reach nearby facilities
- Respect the established nudist policy and its enforcement
- Consider the pebble-strewn seabed when snorkeling
Exploring the coast by yacht

The beach's proximity to Bol - a major yacht base in the Adriatic - makes it accessible for those seeking a brief shore excursion. Bol, where Plaza Grabov Rat is located, serves as a gateway to Brac's renowned coastal scenery. The island's limestone cliffs and clear waters make it a popular destination for both day-trippers and long-term yacht charter guests. Reviews
Lovely, quiet textile free nudist only beach, easy access, signposted
Narky man went around telling off any one wearing any clothes, he even placed his flip flop at entrance to beach and had written βnudists onlyβ on the sole. Quite laughable, but didnβt stop us enjoying a nice hour snorkelling and sunbathing
Nice beach with clear water
This is a small, sheltered nudist beach which attracts locals, families and tourists. Iβd say only around 10 different groups can be on the beach at any one time. Like other surrounding beaches in Brac, it is a stoned beach. The water is clear and beautiful. The only reason for 4 stars is that the beach is not very big and it is a 5-10 minute walk to find the nearest toilet and/or place for food and drink. Come prepared and you will almost always find a spot!
This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Island Brac or Croatia in general. It's very tidy, a naturist place with good access to the water (small pebbles). It has limited numbers of space. Parking in the street above the beach or in the neighbor beach beside the monestary. Split-Dalmatia
