Plaza Gornja Vala Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach’s profile is defined by its straight shoreline and pebble-covered seabed, with medium-sized stones that create a textured walking surface. Natural shade comes from pine trees lining parts of the shore, while the surrounding hills offer panoramic views. The seabed slopes gradually, with moderate depth increases that make it accessible for snorkeling but less suited for toddlers. The beach’s landscape is marked by its contrast between the rugged mountain backdrop and the smooth pebble shore.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions are generally favorable, with calm waters in the morning that transition to gentle waves by afternoon—a feature noted by visitors for family-friendly activities. The pebble-covered seabed may require water shoes for comfort, though the moderate depth gradient allows safe wading. The beach’s orientation provides natural shelter from direct winds, though wave intensity varies with tidal patterns.Facilities and activities
Snorkeling and water-based entertainment are the primary activities, with the clear Adriatic waters supporting marine life exploration. Paid showers and trash cans are available in some areas, as reported by visitors. The beachfront includes bars and restaurants, with one reviewer highlighting a "beach bar" as a key amenity. No official facilities are listed in the catalog, but nearby infrastructure includes promenades and cafes along the Dalmatinska road.Access and location
Located at 14 Dalmatinska in Gradac, the beach is accessible via road networks connecting to Split and Dubrovnik. Its proximity to the Adriatic Sea places it within a 20-minute drive of marinas in the Split region, making it a convenient stop for yacht charter guests. The beach’s coordinates (43.10317° N, 17.34546° E) align with the broader sailing routes of the Central Dalmatia coast. What visitors say

The beach’s shaded areas and adjacent bars are frequently cited, with one visitor stating, "Nice promenade, Shops and Cafés. Super beaches."

A reviewer observed that "before the noon the sea is pretty still, but in the afternoon you can expect waves which kids really like." The presence of paid showers and trash cans is mentioned in some reviews, though no official facilities are listed in the catalog.
