Plaza Bucevica Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its pebble composition, with fine beige stones covering most of the shore. The seabed extends gradually into moderate depths, making it suitable for all swimmers. Visitors note the clarity of the water and the gentle slope of the seabed, which avoids abrupt changes in depth. The surrounding landscape includes mountain ridges that provide a dramatic backdrop.Swimming and shore
The pebble surface is described as 'soft' in reviews, though not sandy. The water is clear and shallow near the shore, with depth increasing gradually. The beach's orientation as a cove offers some shelter from open-sea swells, though wave activity depends on wind direction. The shoreline lacks natural rock formations but benefits from the mountainous terrain's protection.Facilities and activities
Official amenities are not listed in the beach catalog, but visitor reports mention shower and changing facilities available on-site. Chair rentals (€20 for two chairs with an umbrella) are offered, though availability depends on season. No structured activities are documented, but the beach's location near Seget Vranjica suggests potential for local excursions.Access and location
Plaza Bucevica is located at Obala Mira Barešića 27, Seget Vranjica (43.51301°N, 16.17821°E). Parking is available nearby, with fees ranging from €5/day (reviews note free parking during off-peak times). The beach is approximately 30 minutes by car from Split, placing it within the broader Split-Dalmatia region. Public transport options are limited, making private vehicles the most practical access method. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight the beach's affordability and accessibility. Andrew Robinson noted 'cheap €5 parking' and available shower facilities during a September 2024 visit. Christian Winkler (August 2023) described the beach as 'beautiful' but warned of 'almost full' conditions throughout the day. Jessica Ardis (August 2021) praised the beach's 'clear and beautiful' water and noted it was 'not crowded during high season,' despite its proximity to Split.
One recurring theme is the beach's value for money, with multiple reviewers citing low fees for parking and chair rentals. However, the 'Busy' crowd index in the catalog aligns with reports of packed conditions during peak months.
Practical tips
- Arrive early in the day to secure chair rentals, as availability decreases during peak hours.
- Parking fees vary seasonally; check local conditions before visiting.
- Bring beach towels and footwear suitable for pebble surfaces.
- The beach's mountainous setting offers opportunities for hiking or sightseeing in the surrounding area.

Reviews
Excellent soft pebble beach with cheap €5 parking(depending on time of year-free at quieter times of year) Has shower and changing facilities. €20 for 2 chairs with umbrella. Would recommend. 1
Beautiful beach, cheap parking (5€/day), showers and toilets are available but it is almost full throughout the day.
We wanted to avoid the crowds in Split. This was so worth the half hour drive! We arrived mid day and we still were able to get chair rental. Parking was easy to find, and there was a bar and bathrooms. There were pebbles but not big rocks, the water started off shallow, and was clear and beautiful. Best of all it was not crowded during high season! Perfect. Split-Dalmatia
