Petrcane Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its cove-like shape, which provides natural shade from surrounding cliffs. The predominant surface is black sand interspersed with pebbles, though some sections have beige sand. The water is consistently clear, with visitors noting its shallow, calm conditions ideal for swimming. The seabed's mixed texture of sand and pebbles creates a varied underwater landscape. The beach's natural rock formations contribute to its sheltered character, though the rocky shoreline requires caution for barefoot swimmers.Swimming and shore
Swimmers will find the water exceptionally clear and shallow, with depths increasing gradually. The calm conditions make it suitable for families, though the rocky shoreline necessitates water shoes for safe access. Reviewers highlighted the ability to swim far from shore without encountering rough water. The beach's natural rock formations create a unique swimming experience, with some areas offering sandy patches further from the shore.Facilities and activities
While no official amenities are listed, visitors report public parking adjacent to the beach, though pay parking machines are in place (€0.30/hour). Cafes, bars, and restaurants are located around the beach, though access may be affected by ongoing road construction. Reviews
The water is absolutely beautiful. Clear water, shallow, calm. However, the shore is very rocky which leads into the water. Would not recommend coming without some sort of water shoes as the rocks are quite sharp. You can also swim out very far without the fear of rough water.
Famous beach in Petrčane. Water was a bit misty and after a few metres there is sand. The beach is mostly shallow and there is a public parking. Around the beach there are many cafes bars and restaurants. Keep in mind that you have to go all around because the road to the beach is under construction!! Наталья Лукьяненко
Super!!! Fantastic, clean sea water, stone beach.
Very nice beach, Rocky at the edge but sandy out further. Restrooms were locked, but there is a changing booth. Pay parking adjacent (€0.30/hr), pay at machine.
Lovely beach, it is a pebble beach with an inflatable course for Kids. Arrive before 10 for parking otherwise you will be disappointed. The sea is clear with a few rock only for the first 2 metres or so. There are also pedalos for 10 euros an hour. Zadar
