Peroj Beach, Croatia
Peroj Beach lies along the Istrian coast in Croatia, offering a 880-meter stretch of white pebble shoreline backed by a mix of natural and social features. Its moderate depth gradient and varied seabed make it a versatile spot for water activities, while its proximity to nearby settlements connects it to the broader Istrian tourism network.
Beach character
The beach's predominant surface is white pebbles, with a seabed composed of sand and boulders. Depth increases gradually, creating conditions suitable for swimmers of varying abilities. Visitors report encountering stones near the shore, which some describe as 'hurting when entering the sea,' though others note the water's clarity and the abundance of marine life visible during snorkeling.
Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions are generally favorable, with depths increasing moderately from the shore. The beach supports a range of water-based activities including kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, beach volleyball, and jetskiing. Reviewers frequently mention the presence of small fish visible while snorkeling, though the pebble-strewn shore necessitates water shoes for comfort.
Facilities and activities
While no formal amenities are listed, visitor accounts describe free parking availability and a dedicated dog-friendly section with a bar featuring music. The beach hosts events such as kite festivals, as noted in a 2017 review mentioning 'night kites and balloons happening' during a local celebration. No showers, restrooms, or umbrellas are explicitly provided, but visitors are advised to bring their own seating.
Access and location
Located in Peroj (1080), the beach is positioned near the Istrian Peninsula's western coast. Its coordinates (44.94916, 13.78398) place it within proximity to other Istrian settlements, though specific road access details are not outlined in the catalog. The beach's relative seclusion compared to nearby Fazana Beach, as noted by one reviewer, suggests it may appeal to those seeking less crowded coastal experiences.
What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight the beach's appeal to families and partygoers, with multiple 10/10 ratings across years. One visitor noted the beach's 'perfect water for snorkeling' and 'many small fishes,' while another described it as 'not so crowded as other places in Istria.' A 2022 review emphasized its 'free space' and 'relaxing experience' compared to busier alternatives. However, several reviews caution about the pebble-strewn shore, recommending water shoes for comfort.
Practical tips
Bring water shoes to navigate the pebble-strewn shore comfortably. Consider arriving early to secure parking spots, as free parking is available but may be limited during peak seasons. The beach's dog-friendly policy allows pets, but visitors should follow designated area guidelines.

Reviews
This beach is perfect, it has free parking spots, there are no chairs so you gotta bring something to sit on and maybe an umbrella. For the water you should get some special water shoes because there are a lot of stones. The water is perfect for snorkeling, today i saw many small fishes. Also the water depth is perfect for everyone.
Not so crowded as other place in istria.
In the shadow of crowded Fazana beach there is Peroj. At any time with a lot of free space and suited for far more relaxing experience.
The beach is very good and the water a very pretty colour. The only bad thing is that the brach has stones, and it hurts when you go into the sea, so its good to buy shoes for water. The beach also has a beach for dogs, so there are dogs around. And it also has a bar with good music.
