Okrug Gornji II Beach - Trogir, Croatia
Okrug Gornji II Beach lies along the eastern coast of the island of Ε olta, near the town of Trogir in Split-Dalmatia County. This 340-meter stretch of beach features a straight shoreline with beige pebbles and natural shade from surrounding vegetation. The beach is part of the Planikovica III area, a residential and recreational zone known for its proximity to both the sea and Trogir's historic old town.
Beach character
The beach's natural features include a gently sloping seabed covered in pebbles, with depth increasing moderately as one moves away from shore. The beach is characterized by its simplicity and unembellished natural setting, lacking artificial structures or amenities. The landscape provides natural shade, making it a suitable spot for leisure activities during warmer months. The beach's orientation and position create a sheltered environment, though visitors should be aware that the crowd index is high during peak season.
Swimming and shore
The pebbled shoreline offers a unique swimming experience, with water clarity typical of the Adriatic coast. The beach is particularly suited for activities like stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and surfing, as noted in visitor reports. The moderate depth increase allows for safe entry into the water, though swimmers should be mindful of the pebble substrate. The beach's straight shoreline provides unobstructed views of the sea, with the nearby small pebble beach (approximately 100 meters away) offering an alternative for those seeking less crowded access points.
Facilities and activities
No formal facilities or amenities are listed for the beach itself. However, visitor accounts highlight the availability of nearby services, including a supermarket, restaurants, and a tennis court within walking distance. The beach is associated with the 'Villa Barbara' residential complex, where guests can access private terraces with direct sea views. Activities include SUP rentals (for a small fee) and exploration of nearby attractions such as the Statue of the Virgin Mary of Loreto in Primosten.
Access and location
The beach is accessible via the Planikovica III residential area, with parking available on-site according to visitor reports. A 15-minute walk along the beach leads to a taxi boat service to Trogir's old town, operating every 30 minutes. What visitors say
Visitors consistently highlight the beach's proximity to the sea and the quality of accommodations in the nearby Villa Barbara complex. Multiple reviews note the friendly and attentive hosts, with one guest mentioning that the owners installed new high-speed internet for remote work. The taxi boat service to Trogir and nearby excursion opportunities (such as the runway experience in Split) are also recurring points of praise.
Practical tips
Visitors should be prepared for a pebbled shoreline, which may require water shoes for comfort. The nearby small pebble beach offers an alternative for those seeking less crowded access. The taxi boat service to Trogir is a convenient option for exploring the old town, though schedules should be confirmed in advance. The area's popularity means that early arrival is recommended during peak season.

Reviews
We stayed there for 14 days at the end of June 2022 and were lucky that someone canceled spontaneously. The apartment is great, exactly as in the photos and as described in advance. Very clean, absolutely everything you need is there, and the huge terrace is fantastic. Even if the large tree somewhat limits the view of the sea, you couldn't be any closer to the sea! Barbara and Marin are super nice; they live next door but are not at all intrusive. They are very helpful and always there if you need something. Parking is possible on the property. 100m to the left is a small pebble beach, which was completely empty during our vacation, and if you prefer to stay on your own terrace, you can also jump straight into the sea there. A leisurely 15-minute walk along the beach takes you to a taxi boat to Trogir every 30 minutes; a very relaxing way to get to the old town. Two excursion tips: 1. Statue of the Virgin Mary of Loreto, just under an hour's drive to Primosten, but an incredible view up and down the coast. 2. If you like airplanes and want to stand under them during a landing, you have to go to the fence of runway 05. It's a fantastic experience. The best Croatian apartment and location we've ever had. We've already booked again for June 2023...and are bringing friends with us :-) Greetings, Stephan from the Ruhr area
Excellent, will be back next year!!
Comfortable, modern and well equipped apartments just next to the sea. Friendly owners, very attentive and helpful. I was planning to work remotely during part of my stay and the hosts installed new fast internet for me. A perfect place for vacation and workation!
Villa Barbara is like paradise. Super clean and spacious rooms. The rooms are very modern and tasteful. Nothing is missing. Beach is right on your doorstep. You can rent a SUP for a small fee and paddle into the bays from there. Supermarket, restaurants, ice cream parlor and tennis court are nearby. Barbara is courteous, helpful and has lots of tips. As a family with a child (10), we were super happy βοΈ
A beautiful apartment right by the sea with a fantastic terrace with sea views. You can only feel comfortable and dream here. The hosts are very nice, helpful and particularly accommodating. We felt really comfortable here and would love to come back again and again. Split-Dalmatia
