Okrug Gornji Beach - Trogir, Croatia
Beach character
The beach spans approximately 80 meters in length, with a narrow width of 10 meters, characterized by small beige pebbles that dominate the shoreline. The sea floor extends gradually into the water, with a moderate depth increase that makes it suitable for families with children. The beach is flanked by low-lying terrain and scattered pine trees, offering shaded areas for respite from the sun. The landscape provides panoramic views of the surrounding coast, with the Adriatic Sea stretching toward the distant islands of Šolta and Brač. While the pebble surface may not be ideal for those seeking soft sands, the beach’s sheltered position ensures calmer waters compared to more exposed coastal stretches.Swimming and shore
The gentle slope into the sea makes Okrug Gornji particularly welcoming for swimmers, with water depths increasing gradually and no sudden drops. The pebbles along the shore create a textured surface for walking, though visitors with sensitive feet may prefer to bring sandals. Snorkeling is a popular activity here, with clear waters revealing marine life in the shallows. Kayaking and surfing are also available, with the beach’s location offering favorable conditions for both. The sea floor’s composition of small pebbles adds to the area’s distinct character, though it may require some adjustment for those accustomed to sandy beaches.Facilities and activities
While the beach itself lacks formal amenities like showers or restrooms, a small bar and restaurant are located nearby, offering basic refreshments and traditional Croatian cuisine. Visitor reviews note that the bar serves drinks and ice cream at reasonable prices, though it is not a full-service restaurant. The establishment has been described as contributing to the beach’s laid-back atmosphere, with some guests appreciating its affordability and others noting its limited menu. No official parking facilities are listed for the beach, but its proximity to Trogir’s main roads suggests accessible road access for visitors arriving by car.Access and location
Okrug Gornji Beach is situated on the island of Čiovo, just a 20-minute walk from the Apartment Beth along a scenic coastal path. Visitors consistently highlight the beach’s relaxed atmosphere and scenic surroundings. One reviewer described the experience as “reminiscent of a hippie vibe,” with a focus on casual enjoyment rather than luxury amenities. The bar and restaurant, while modest, are praised for their affordability and availability of basic meals and beverages. Families with children appreciate the gentle water entry and the presence of shaded areas under pine trees. However, some guests note the bar’s limited offerings, with one visitor advising to “pack for yourself” due to its minimal menu. The beach’s cleanliness and moderate crowd levels during peak season are frequently mentioned, with several reviewers calling it “one of the best beaches” in the region.Practical tips

Reviews
Come here on the beach, so sat for a drink. The atmosphere is good, it's cooler under the big pine trees, cold beer 🍻 , they also provide food, but we weren't hungry. Will definitely come again.
Charming beach, with pebbles, gentle water entry for kids, pretty good for snorkeling, pine trees, restaurant with basic croatian food (10 eur all meals, 4 eur all beers, 10 eur all cocktails, 3.5 the ice cream). Great atmosphere, chilling, reminiscent of a hippie vibe.
A 20 minute walk from Apartment Beth along a beautiful coastal path, Beach Vela Draga is on the quiet side of Okrug Gornji. The gentle slope in to the water in a sheltered bay provides an ideal environment for safe paddling and bathing for all the family. Don't understand other criticising the beach bar. It is not meant to be a restaurant, it provides the opportunity for refreshing drinks and ice creams at very reasonable prices, no more, no less.
One of the best beaches. 5 star, because it is really exceptionally good compared to other beaches around here. Nice view, no ships, clean sea, shady areas. Shoes required, good for snorkelling. The bar serves nearly nothing, so pack for yourself.
