Novo Posta Beach - Komiža, Croatia
Beach character
Novo Posta Beach is a straight, unbroken shoreline of beige pebbles stretching 20 meters wide. The beach is flanked by rugged mountainous terrain and steep cliffs, creating a dramatic backdrop that extends into the sea. The sea floor is composed of pebbles, with a moderate depth increase as one moves away from the shore. This topography, combined with the beach’s isolation, contributes to its reputation as a secluded spot. The area is noted for its good cleanliness standards, though there are no official amenities or services on-site, requiring visitors to bring their own provisions.Swimming and shore
The beach’s pebble composition means swimming is best approached with care, though the water is consistently described as clear and inviting. A prominent rock formation approximately 30 meters offshore serves as a popular diving spot, accessible via a short swim. The depth increases gradually, making it suitable for swimmers of varying abilities. However, the pebbles can make walking along the shore uncomfortable without appropriate footwear. The beach’s western orientation means afternoon sun exposure is intense, though some natural shade is available from the cliffs.Facilities and activities
There are no official facilities at Novo Posta Beach, including restrooms, showers, or food services. Visitors must bring their own supplies, though neighboring Plaža Kamenica offers餐饮 options. The beach is particularly favored by hikers and leisure seekers, with several reviews noting the scenic walking routes from Komiža town. The nudist-friendly atmosphere is a recurring theme in visitor reports, though it remains a niche aspect of the beach’s appeal. The area’s natural features make it ideal for photography and quiet relaxation.Access and location
Access to Novo Posta Beach is primarily via a path through the sea from neighboring Plaža Kamenica, which involves wading through shallow waters (no more than knee-deep). A secondary route exists via a hillside trail behind a nearby camping area, though this is described as more challenging, especially with luggage. The beach is approximately 10–15 minutes from Komiža town center, making it a viable destination for day trips. Its remote location means it is less frequented by mass tourism, contributing to its tranquil character. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight Novo Posta Beach’s seclusion and natural beauty, with multiple visitors describing it as a "romantic" and "unspoiled" destination. One reviewer noted the beach’s "isolation and relaxed FKK atmosphere," while another praised the "crystal clear water" and "picturesque views." However, several comments caution about the challenging access, particularly for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. The need to bring personal supplies is a recurring theme, with no on-site food or drink services available. Despite these considerations, the beach remains a favored spot for those seeking a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience.Practical tips
Bring your own food, drinks, and swimming footwear due to the absence of on-site services and the pebble shoreline. Arrive early to avoid the afternoon sun’s intensity. Consider visiting during shoulder seasons for fewer crowds, though the beach remains moderately populated during peak months. The sea access route from Plaža Kamenica is recommended for ease of entry.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
Really lovely, isolated and relaxed FKK beach. The easiest way to access it is via the beach next door on the Komiza side (Plaža Kamenica) from which you can just walk through the sea and around the rocks to reach the other side. It looks initially difficult, but in reality is very easy and you barely get more than knee deep in water. Worth taking swimming shoes for this, although you could probably get away with sandals. There is also apparently access from the hill behind by walking round the back of the camping situated there, but people on the beach told us it was more difficult and from looking at the hillside, it was easy to see why. You need to bring your own food and drink as there is no bar or restaurant on the beach. There is one at Plaža Kamenica though. There is a nice rock formation about 30m into the sea which is easy to swim to and from which you can dive into the sea. There is some shade, but not a lot and being west facing, from the afternoon onwards, the sun is ever present.
Laid-back and unspoiled nudist beach. This spot is a quiet one, except when the crickets are chirping. It’s a bit tricky to find it and get down to the stony beach, where the water is crystal clear. Once I got there, there were only a few other people on a July afternoon. I could enjoy the sun in my birthday suit and get tanned all over. You have to bring your own drinks and food, as there’s no service or other facility. I will return!
A beautiful secluded beach to visit early in the morning. Nice little walking expedition from Komiža town - about a 10-15 minute walk here. Crystal clear water with nobody around first thing in the morning.
A rather hard and dangerous descent, especially with baggage. Beach with a separate part of FKK. In this bay nature rules, respect it. Very romantic.
Very cool and romantic place! Great surrounding and views! Split-Dalmatia
