Mutnik Beach: A Quiet Cove in Mirce, Croatia
Beach character
Mutnik Beach is a narrow cove measuring 290 meters in length and 40 meters in width. The shoreline consists of beige pebbles, providing a natural texture for sunbathing. Natural shade is available from surrounding terrain, though no artificial structures offer additional cover. The sea floor is composed of pebbles, with water depth increasing gradually from the shore. This moderate depth profile suits casual swimmers but may present challenges for those with mobility concerns.Swimming and shore
The beach's pebbly shore allows for comfortable lying positions, though visitors should be cautious of sea urchins noted in several reviews. Swimming conditions are generally favorable, with clear waters ideal for snorkeling. One reviewer described the experience as 'picture perfect, crystal clear waters, comfortable temp.' However, the pebbles may make entry into the water less straightforward for young children or those with sensitive skin.Facilities and activities
There are no official amenities directly on the beach, but a small bar named Safari Bar is located a short distance away, offering snacks and drinks. Kayaking is explicitly listed as an available activity. Visitors should note that while free parking is available nearby, there are no official toilets at the beach itself. One review mentioned 'no „official“ toilet,' though a nearby bar provides basic facilities.Access and location
Mutnik Beach is accessible via Ravan III 17 in Mirce, a coastal settlement near the town of Supetar. The beach is within walking distance of Supetar, making it a convenient stop for those exploring the area. Free parking is available in the surrounding area, though visitors should be mindful of local traffic patterns. The beach's proximity to Supetar also means it benefits from the town's infrastructure without being overwhelmed by crowds. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight Mutnik Beach's tranquility despite its 'packed' high-season designation. One visitor noted it was 'surprisingly few people on a decent beach,' while another called it 'the best beach by a mile' for snorkeling. However, several reviews caution about sea urchins, with one stating 'getting into water may be challenging due to the great number of sea urchins.' The beach is recommended for leisure seekers, with one reviewer describing it as 'absolutely perfect for snorkeling.'Practical tips
Bring a towel for the pebbly shore, as lying directly on the stones may be uncomfortable. Be mindful of sea urchins when entering the water, especially with children. The nearby Safari Bar offers basic amenities, but visitors should not expect official toilets at the beach itself. Arrive early to secure a spot during peak hours.Exploring the coast by yacht
Mutnik Beach lies along the Dalmatian coast, a region popular with yacht charter guests for its clear waters and coastal villages. Its proximity to Supetar makes it a convenient stop for sailors exploring the area. Kayaking is available on-site, and the surrounding waters are suitable for snorkeling excursions. For those chartering a motor yacht, the beach's location offers easy access to both secluded coves and bustling coastal towns.Best Times to Visit
While the beach is marked as 'packed' during high season, reviews suggest it often feels less crowded than expected. Visitors who prefer solitude may find early mornings or weekdays particularly pleasant. Reviews
Surprisingly few people on a decent beach. Enough shade, enough place, very quiet. Beach in itself is nothing special.
Great beach if you are looking for one not so crowded but in the walking distance from Supetar. Many areas with small stones to comfortably lay down. Toilets, showers, and a small bar with snacks and drinks a few steps away. Getting into water may be challenging due to the great number of sea urchins. So, it's not great if you are with children but absolutely perfect for snorkeling😁
Great beach, can be quieter than nearby beaches jeroen
Best beach by a mile! Not for surf, of course. But snorkelling & swimming: picture perfect, crystal clear waters, comfortable temp (old men in budgie smugglers all day). But max 10-12 ppl on beach at any one time.
Nice lonely beach, free parking, little bar Safari Bar). No „official“ toilet. Split-Dalmatia
