Moby's Beach in Vrbnik, Croatia: A Hidden Cove with Stunning Natural Features
Beach character
Moby's Beach is defined by its dramatic geography. The cove is flanked by steep cliffs and mountains, creating a sheltered environment that contrasts with the open sea. The beach's seabed is composed of boulders, which contribute to its distinct character and provide a habitat for marine life. The depth increases moderately as one moves away from the shore, offering varied conditions for water activities. While the beach is marked as 'Busy' during high season, its remote location ensures a more tranquil experience compared to other popular spots in the region. Cleanliness is noted as 'Good,' reflecting the area's natural preservation.Swimming and shore
Swimming at Moby's Beach is best suited for experienced swimmers due to the boulder-strewn seabed, which can make navigation challenging. The moderate depth increase allows for some variation in conditions, but the beach is not ideal for young children or those seeking calm, shallow waters. The natural shade provided by the cliffs and mountains offers relief from the sun, though visitors should be mindful of the rocky terrain when entering or exiting the water.Facilities and activities
Moby's Beach lacks formal amenities such as showers, restrooms, or parking, as noted in the catalog. However, it is well-suited for outdoor activities. The beach is explicitly associated with Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and surfing, making it a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts. Hiking trails lead to the beach, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the surrounding landscape. The trails, while not marked in the catalog, are referenced in visitor reviews as accessible paths from nearby areas.Access and location
Access to Moby's Beach requires a moderate hike, with visitor reviews indicating that the trail can take 10–20 minutes depending on fitness levels. One reviewer noted that the path begins at Potovošće Strand and branches off to the right, requiring careful navigation. Another mentioned a secondary trail leading to a smaller, more secluded beach on the right-hand side of the main cove. The beach's remote location contributes to its tranquility but may pose challenges for those with limited mobility or heavy luggage. What visitors say
Visitors consistently highlight Moby's Beach's natural beauty and seclusion. One reviewer described it as 'a paradise' with 'amazing seabed' and 'schools of fish,' while others praised the peaceful atmosphere, noting that it was 'only one happy couple' present during their visit. Challenges include the trail's difficulty and occasional litter from nearby boats. A 2020 review warned that 'many boats go there,' suggesting that visitors should be mindful of potential disturbances from passing vessels.Practical tips
Bring water for the hike to the beach, as the trail can be strenuous. Sturdy footwear is recommended for the rocky terrain. Visitors should be prepared for limited facilities and consider arriving early to enjoy the beach before crowds arrive in high season. The smaller beach accessible via vegetation and rocks is worth exploring for a more secluded experience.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
Very nice, good shade in the morning. On the trail make sure you take the first left at the pictured spot and then left at the next fork (not far from the first one) I don't know where the other trails leads but it took a while to find the right way. There is an even smaller beach if you go through the vegetation and rocks on the right hand side of the beach and there is shadow there
You go on the path from Potovošće Strand vrbnik on the right side is the path. Path is very easy and takes like 10-20mins dependa on age. Follow path and follow the path that makes sense. Was here in May, only one happy cupple and other side of mobbys beach was empty.
Amazing place. Super quiet. Pros: - Difficult to reach, so there aren't many people (you have to walk for ~20 minutes from the more popular northern beach). In this period, the vegetation has grown a lot, and nobody is cutting it, so expect a few scratches - Amazing seabed. I've seen many different fishes, and schools of fish. - Nice landscape Cons: - Many boats go there, and some tourist might not be well educated like you
Beautiful place. Hard to reach, especially with luggage, but totally worth it. Will come back by boat. ❤️
