Majerovica Beach - Hvar, Croatia
Majerovica Beach lies on the southern coast of Hvar Island, Croatia, at Ivana Božitkovića 21. This small cove beach stretches 40 meters wide and 10 meters deep, framed by beige pebbles that extend into the sea. Natural shade from overhanging landforms offers respite from the sun, though the beach is noted for its moderate crowd levels in high season. Travelers with dogs will find designated areas marked by information signs, making it a practical choice for pet-friendly visits.
Beach character
The beach’s compact dimensions and pebbled composition define its character. The sea floor slopes gently, with depth increasing moderately as one moves from shore. The natural shade provided by the surrounding terrain creates microclimates that can offer cooler conditions during peak hours. While the beach lacks structured amenities, its simplicity aligns with the rugged, unspoiled coastline typical of Hvar’s southern shores.
Swimming and shore
The pebbled shore makes swimming accessible but may require careful footing. Snorkeling is a popular activity, with visitors noting clear waters despite colder temperatures in early summer. The beach’s orientation and depth profile suggest it is suitable for calm swimming, though the pebbles may make wading uncomfortable for some. The sea floor’s gradual slope allows for safe entry into deeper waters.
Facilities and activities
No formal facilities are listed, but three beach platforms are mentioned in visitor reports. Kayaking is explicitly noted as an available activity. Dogs are permitted in designated areas, as indicated by on-site signage. The lack of structured amenities means visitors should bring their own equipment for activities like kayaking or yoga, though the beach’s natural features support spontaneous recreation.

Located in Hvar, a municipality within the Split-Dalmatia region, Majerovica Beach is part of a coastline known for its rugged beauty and historical significance. Reviews
Great spot, if you bring a yoga mat it works better than beach towel. There are three beach platform too, but they get busy as well. Great for snorkeling, swim, etc. In May the water is cold as usual every where in Croatia, but beautiful blue sky and Sunshine.
