Lukobran Beach, Krk: A Family-Friendly Stone Beach with Water Sports Opportunities, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its small gray pebble surface, which covers most of the shoreline. The seabed slopes gently with moderate depth increases, creating safe conditions for children and casual swimmers. Natural shade from pine trees provides limited relief from the sun, though visitors note the lack of extensive shaded areas. The beach's straight shoreline and proximity to the town make it a convenient option for those seeking easy access to dining and cultural sites.Swimming and shore
Shallow waters extend far from the shore, with depths increasing gradually and no sharp drops. This makes the beach particularly suitable for families with young children. Visitor reviews frequently mention the water's clarity and the ease of wading. The beach's pebble surface can be uncomfortable for barefoot swimmers, though this is offset by the availability of rental pedal boats and other water-based activities.Facilities and activities
Basic amenities include showers (€0.20 per use), toilets (€1 per use), and changing rooms. A small playground caters to children, and food and drink vendors operate near the shore. Water sports options include stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and surfing, with rental services available on-site. The beach's proximity to Krk's old town (15-20 minute walk) adds to its appeal for visitors seeking a mix of coastal activities and urban exploration.Access and location
Situated at 3 Ulica Braće Linardića, Lukobran Beach is within walking distance of Krk's historic center. The beach lies between the Ježevac Camp and Porporela Beach, forming part of a broader recreational area on the island. Its location makes it a convenient stop for travelers exploring Krk's northern coastline, with easy access to ferry routes connecting to mainland Croatia and other islands. What visitors say
Reviewers consistently highlight the beach's practical amenities, with particular praise for the playground, food vendors, and water rentals. One visitor noted, 'Everything is there on the beach—food, drink, toilets, showers, playground, changing rooms, and pedal boat rental.' However, some reports mention the beach's crowded conditions during peak season and the lack of extensive shade. Cleanliness is generally described as good, with reviewers noting 'clean toilets and showers despite the fees.'Practical tips
Be prepared for pebble-based swimming and consider bringing water shoes. Use the on-site showers and toilets, though note the €0.20 and €1 fees respectively. Arrive early in the day to avoid crowds during peak season. The beach's proximity to Krk's old town makes it ideal for combining a day at the shore with evening exploration of the island's historic sites.Exploring the coast by yacht

A beautiful beach that offers lots of shade and has a shallow water. Great for a short break to go into the water. Toilet and shower are chargeable but clean. There are some changing rooms available. There is a playground for the children.
A beautiful beach (stone beach) with great views of the city and clear water. There is a shower (costs €0.20) and changing room, as well as a few stands where you can get something to eat and drink. Toilet costs €1
Everything is there on the beach, food, drink, toilets, showers, playground, changing rooms and a pedal boat rental. We were also lucky at 1:45 p.m. in mid-August it wasn't crowded either. Walk to the old town about 15-20 minutes. PS I erased the people in the picture (personal rights)!!!
Decent place, not the best but still nice to chill on a sunny day and to get a drink neabry :).
Next to camp Ježevac and Porporela beach, it’s a nice little “bay” that is suitable for children as well. Not much shade on the beach itself, but you have some pine trees nearby. Probably gets very crowded in high season, so if you don’t mind that it might be a good choice for you. It’s OK location for a public beach in town. Primorje-Gorski Kotar
