Kutlesa Beach, Croatia
Kutlesa Beach, located in Mimice on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, is a compact cove nestled between rugged cliffs and mountainous terrain. This 230-meter-long beach features a surface of small beige pebbles, offering a unique contrast to the region’s more common sandy shores. The surrounding landscape provides natural shade from cliffs, while the sea floor is covered in fine pebbles that slope gradually into moderate depths. With a crowd index of moderate during peak season, it balances accessibility with a sense of tranquility, making it a favored spot for both leisure seekers and those looking for a lively atmosphere.
Beach character
The beach’s defining feature is its pebble composition, which covers most of its surface and extends into the sea. The seabed is similarly textured, with fine pebbles that create a stable environment for snorkeling and diving. The landscape is characterized by nearby mountains and cliffs, which contribute to the beach’s sheltered feel. The depth increases gradually, ensuring safe conditions for swimmers of all ages. Visitor reviews frequently highlight the clarity of the water and the beach’s suitability for water-based activities, though some note the lack of natural shade beyond the cliffs.
Swimming and shore
The shallow, pebbled shore makes Kutlesa Beach ideal for snorkeling and diving, with clear waters revealing vibrant marine life. The moderate depth increase ensures safe swimming conditions, and the beach’s orientation offers protection from direct onshore winds. Visitors have reported excellent visibility underwater, making it a prime location for exploring the Adriatic’s marine ecosystems. The absence of sandy areas means the beach is less suited for sunbathing but remains a compelling choice for those prioritizing aquatic activities.
Facilities and activities
While no formal amenities are listed in the beach’s authoritative records, visitor reviews mention a beach bar offering refreshments such as ice coffee. The beach is officially associated with activities including diving, snorkeling, and water entertainment, though specifics about rental equipment or guided tours are not provided. The nearby settlement of Mimice may offer additional services, but the beach itself remains focused on natural features and self-directed exploration.
Access and location
Kutlesa Beach is situated in Mimice, a small settlement on the island of Brač, accessible via a narrow road that can accommodate only one vehicle at a time. Parking challenges are a recurring theme in visitor reviews, with several noting the need to arrive early or park further along the road. The beach’s coordinates (43.40366, 16.81204) place it within the broader sailing area of the Adriatic, near popular marinas and anchorages that cater to yacht charter guests exploring the Dalmatian coast.
What visitors say
Visitors consistently praise Kutlesa Beach for its clear waters and scenic surroundings, with multiple reviews rating it as 'Exceptional.' One reviewer noted the beach’s ‘crystal clear water’ and ‘great view,’ while another described it as ‘the best stoney beach in Croatia.’ However, several mentions of limited parking and the need to arrive early highlight logistical considerations. The beach’s appeal is further underscored by its suitability for snorkeling and diving, with one visitor recommending it as ‘good for snorkeling’ and another calling it ‘our favourite’ due to its natural beauty.
Practical tips
Arrive early to secure parking, as the narrow road to Mimice allows only one vehicle at a time. Consider visiting on weekdays for a less crowded experience. The beach bar offers refreshments, but there are no official showers or toilets. Bring sunscreen and water, as the pebbled surface may require more foot protection than sandy beaches.

Reviews
Nice medium/small sized beach that is bound by two beach bars at either end. Limited parking. Recommend to arrive as early as possible to not be disappointed with parking options. Little natural shade afforded, good to bear in mind. Nicer on weekdays when less people there.
Best stoney beach we found in Croatia, amazing place with some rocks that you can climb on !
Great view, crystal water, shower, beach bar with ice coffee - I recommend
Beautiful beach, crystal clear water. Our favourite❤️
Arrive earlier and you wont regret it. Amazing beach, clean water, good for snorkeling. The parking is tricky since the road to Mimice is very tiny and only one car can fit, so better stop up in the road. Split-Dalmatia
