Kasjun Beach, Rogač – A Hidden Gem of the Croatian Coast, Croatia
Beach character
Kasjun Beach is defined by its geological features: a narrow cove with beige pebbles covering the shore and a sea floor of similar composition. The depth increases gradually, making it suitable for swimmers who prefer a firm surface. The surrounding landscape is dominated by cliffs and low mountains, providing natural protection from wind and a striking backdrop. However, the beach’s high season crowd index indicates it can become busy, and its cleanliness rating is notably poor, with visitors frequently noting litter along the shore.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Kasjun Beach are generally favorable, with clear waters that attract snorkelers and families. The moderate depth increase allows for safe wading, though the pebbly bottom may make prolonged sunbathing uncomfortable. Some visitors have praised the water’s clarity and the abundance of marine life visible near the shore, while others have expressed concerns about the lack of facilities such as showers or restrooms. The absence of infrastructure means visitors must bring their own supplies, including water and towels.Facilities and activities
There are no official amenities at Kasjun Beach, such as restrooms, showers, or food vendors. Visitor reviews confirm this, with one noting the need to carry drinking water due to the lack of on-site provisions. Activities are limited to swimming and snorkeling, though the beach’s secluded nature makes it an appealing spot for those seeking tranquility. The absence of commercial facilities means the beach remains largely untouched, preserving its natural character.Access and location
Reaching Kasjun Beach requires navigating a steep path from the main road, a detail highlighted by multiple visitors. The beach is located at Stari put 46 in Rogač, a coastal village in the Split-Dalmatia region. While it is within walking distance of the ferry terminal (about 15 minutes), the road access is not ideal for those without a vehicle. Google Maps users have noted discrepancies in navigation, suggesting alternative routes for easier access. Its location near the Split-Dalmatia coast places it within reach of larger towns and marinas, though the journey to the beach itself is not for the faint of heart. What visitors say
Visitors to Kasjun Beach report a mixed but generally positive experience. Many praise the water quality and the beach’s scenic isolation, with one reviewer calling it a "piece of paradise." However, recurring complaints include the presence of litter and the lack of basic facilities. One visitor noted, "The water is amazing, there’s just trash on the beach sadly," while another emphasized the need to bring drinking water due to the absence of on-site provisions. The beach’s steep access and pebbly shore also divide opinions, with some finding it inconvenient and others appreciating the exclusivity it provides.Practical tips
Bring ample drinking water, as there are no on-site facilities. Wear sturdy footwear for the steep path to the beach. Consider arriving early to avoid crowds during peak season. A car is recommended for easier access, though alternative routes may be necessary due to road navigation challenges.Exploring the coast by yacht
For yacht charter guests, Kasjun Beach offers a secluded anchor point in the Split-Dalmatia region. Its proximity to Rogač and the broader Dalmatian coast makes it a potential stop for those exploring the area’s lesser-known coves. While the beach itself is not a formal marina, nearby anchorages and ports in the region can be found via Euro-Agent’s Yacht Search tool. The beach’s natural setting and clear waters make it an appealing spot for short excursions, though its remote access may require careful planning.Surrounding Area and Regional Context
Rogač is part of the Split-Dalmatia region, known for its rugged coastline and historic villages. The area is dotted with small coves like Kasjun, which offer a contrast to the more developed beaches of nearby towns. Reviews
The water is amazing, there’s just trash on the beach sadly.
A piece of paradise only a 15 minute walk from the ferry. The beach is clean, with small stones, so you will not get sand all over you. Ideal for families with small children. The surrounding trees provide shade during the day and there is always room under them. The water is crystal clear with many sea creatures to look at while snorkeling. There is no infrastructure (water, toilet, shower etc) so make sure you take plenty of drinking water with you. You can access the beach by car on a very steep road.
It was so beautiful. Its kinda a secret beach with just a few people and sometimes some boat. You accesibility a bit complicated, if you haven't got a car. Google maps doesn't show a new highway, from there its so easier to reach the road to the beach. So i recommand to choose this way.
Wonderful, peaceful bay with a stunning view. It's a pebbly beach with lots of wasps in late July. To get here, take a right from the ferry, along the main road, then take the steps down under the road as soon as possible, and follow the small path along the shore. Split-Dalmatia
