Grgurici II Beach, Croatia
Beach character
The beach’s defining feature is its composition of small beige pebbles, which contrast with the smooth, gradual slope of the seabed. This makes it particularly suitable for young children and non-swimmers, as the water depth increases steadily without sudden drops. The natural topography includes rocky outcrops that offer shelter from direct sunlight, though the beach itself lacks formal shade structures. Notably, the area is pet-friendly, with designated zones for dogs identified by on-site information signs. Its proximity to Slano’s main road and the absence of direct car access contribute to a relaxed, low-impact atmosphere.Swimming and shore
The shallow, pebbled shoreline extends into calm waters that are ideal for families. The seabed’s smooth gradient ensures safe wading, and the lack of sharp rocks or deep trenches makes it a practical choice for beginners. Snorkeling is a popular activity here, with clear visibility often extending to the sea floor. While the beach does not have dedicated swimming areas, the natural contours of the cove create a protected environment that minimizes wave action.Facilities and activities
There are no formal facilities on the beach itself, but the nearby village of Slano offers a range of amenities. Motor boat rentals are available, catering to those seeking water-based exploration. Water entertainment options include pedal boats for children, as noted by visitors. The immediate vicinity features restaurants with outdoor seating, providing convenient post-swim dining. These establishments are particularly praised for their proximity to the beach, though their availability may vary seasonally.Access and location
Grgurici II Beach is located in Slano, a coastal town on the Pelješac Peninsula, approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Dubrovnik. The beach is accessible via a short walk from the main road, with no direct parking available on-site. Its position within Slano bay places it near several other beaches and the broader network of Adriatic sailing routes. The area’s road connectivity makes it a common stop for travelers heading toward Dubrovnik or exploring the southern Dalmatian coast. What visitors say
Visitor reviews highlight a contrast between seasonal experiences: one noted the beach was 'almost empty in August mornings,' while another described it as 'quiet and private' during a May visit. However, high-season reports consistently mention crowds, with one reviewer describing it as 'crowded just like anywhere else around here.' Despite this, the beach’s cleanliness is frequently remarked upon, and the availability of pet-friendly zones is a recurring positive note. The nearby restaurants are often cited as a convenient addition to the visit.Practical tips
Arrive early in the day to avoid crowds during peak season. Use the designated pet areas to maintain beach cleanliness. Check with local restaurants for availability, as their operating hours may vary by season.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
Great beach that was almost empty in August in the morning hours 😎👍
This is a lovely little beach, quiet and feels private. Fine gravel and not rocky. Shallow water. Visited in May and it wasn’t busy at all. Great stop on the way to Dubrovnik. Nice restaurants next to the beach for drinks / food afterwards.
Nice beach in Slano bay with some options for kids (pedal boats for rent etc). During high season it's crowded just like anywhere else around here. castall
Super public bath is a strange way to describe a small shingle beach close to a couple of nice restaurants. Dubrovnik-Neretva
