FKK Beach - Camping Skrila, Croatia
FKK Beach, located within Camping Skrila in Stara Baška on Croatia's northern Dalmatian coast, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. This 160-meter-long beach features a straight shoreline of small beige pebbles, framed by rugged cliffs and mountainous terrain. Access is restricted to Camping Skrila guests, creating a secluded environment that appeals to nudists and those seeking a more private coastal experience. The beach's proximity to the village of Stara Baška and its integration with the campsite's amenities make it a distinctive destination on the island of Krk.
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its pebbled surface, which contrasts with the smooth, sandy shores typical of many Adriatic beaches. The shoreline extends in a straight line, with a width of approximately 10 meters. The surrounding landscape includes steep cliffs and mountainous terrain, contributing to the beach's sheltered character. Depth increases gradually, making it suitable for swimmers of varying abilities. While the beach is not explicitly marked as family-friendly in the catalog, visitor reviews note that children enjoy the clear waters and the campsite's facilities.
Swimming and shore
FKK Beach is characterized by its clean, clear waters, with several reviews highlighting the quality of the sea floor and underwater visibility. The pebbled shore provides a stable surface for walking, though it may be less comfortable for those preferring sandy beaches. The gradual depth increase allows for safe swimming, and the sheltered position between cliffs and mountains reduces wave action. Visitors have reported encountering marine life in the shallows, though no specific snorkeling or diving facilities are mentioned in the catalog.
Facilities and activities
As a beach within Camping Skrila, FKK Beach shares the campsite's infrastructure. Reviews mention functional camping accommodations, including two-bedroom units with bathrooms. However, the beach itself lacks direct amenities such as toilets, showers, or changing rooms, with the nearest facilities located at the campsite's main entrance. The campsite's market operates on a cash-only basis, and while the beach bar accepts card payments, some visitors note limitations with digital wallets like Apple Pay. No structured activities are listed in the catalog, but the beach's natural setting supports leisurely exploration and relaxation.
Access and location
FKK Beach is accessible exclusively through Camping Skrila, which is located in Stara Baška on the island of Krk. The campsite's position on the northern coast of Krk places it within reach of the island's main roads and ferry connections to the mainland. Stara Baška itself is a small village with limited local infrastructure, but the campsite provides essential services. The beach's secluded nature means it is not served by public transportation, making it most suitable for visitors staying at the campsite.
What visitors say
Visitors consistently praise FKK Beach for its tranquility and natural beauty. Multiple reviews describe the beach as "not overcrowded" even during peak season, with one noting it was "secluded" in July. The clear waters and scenic views are frequently mentioned, with one reviewer calling it "one of the most beautiful beaches on Krk." However, the lack of direct beach amenities such as toilets and showers is a recurring point of mention, though the campsite's facilities are generally well-regarded. The nudist aspect of the beach is highlighted as a key attraction, with several reviews emphasizing the relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.
Practical tips
Visitors should be prepared for the beach's pebbled surface and the absence of direct amenities. Bringing cash for the campsite's market is advisable, as digital payment options are limited. Reviews
Nice experience great staff friendly relaxed environment
Secluded beach with small pebbles, a beautiful view and clear water, not overcrowded at all (in July). Entry only from Škrila campsite. One minus though - there are no toilets and showers, closest one is near main entry to non FKK beach
We stayed in 2 bdrm 2 bathroom capers that is really functional. Beach is with pebbles and the sea is very clean. Kids enjoyed it a lot. The only thing is that the market is cash only and the brach bar doesn't accept Apple/ Google pay. But anyway most of the grocery shopping we did in the Krk mall zone
Beautiful beach with clean sand, a great underwater area to discover, and sweet-water showers
One of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Krk. Primorje-Gorski Kotar
