Divojacka Beach, Croatia
Beach character
Divojacka Beach is defined by its cove shape, which creates a natural shelter against the open sea. The beach surface is predominantly composed of black sand and pebbles, with patches of beige sand near the water’s edge. The surrounding landscape is characterized by steep cliffs and mountain ridges, offering panoramic views of the coastline. The seabed beneath the waves is a mix of sand and pebbles, with a moderate gradient that allows for safe wading. This geological composition supports a diverse marine ecosystem, contributing to the beach’s appeal for snorkeling. The beach’s cleanliness index is rated as 'Good,' reflecting the local commitment to maintaining its natural environment.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Divojacka Beach are generally favorable, with water depths increasing gradually from the shore. The mixed seabed of sand and pebbles provides a stable surface for swimmers, though the pebble areas may require caution. Visitors have noted that the beach becomes more sandy further into the water, creating a more comfortable swimming experience. The moderate depth increase ensures the beach is suitable for both casual swimmers and those seeking a more immersive aquatic adventure. The absence of strong currents or sharp depth changes makes it a safe option for families with children.Facilities and activities
Divojacka Beach lacks structured amenities such as showers, restrooms, or parking facilities, as no such infrastructure is listed in the beach’s authoritative features. However, its natural setting compensates with unspoiled beauty. Snorkeling is a primary activity, with the clear waters and diverse marine life attracting enthusiasts. Visitor reviews highlight the beach’s accessibility via a well-maintained asphalt road, though one reviewer cautions against following a stony detour that leads to a less convenient route. The beach’s remote character means it is best suited for visitors seeking a tranquil escape rather than a fully serviced destination.Access and location
Located at Zagrebačka 43 in Rovanjska, Jasenice, Divojacka Beach is accessible via a road that winds through the coastal landscape. The beach lies within the broader region of Croatia’s Adriatic coast, an area known for its scenic routes and yacht charter opportunities. Its coordinates (44.24823° N, 15.50954° E) place it near the town of Zadar, a cultural hub with historical sites and culinary offerings. The surrounding area includes other beaches and anchorages that may interest yacht charter guests, though specific marina details are not provided in the beach’s catalog. What visitors say
Visitors consistently praise Divojacka Beach for its natural beauty and sense of seclusion. One reviewer noted that the beach is 'amazing... especially off-season,' emphasizing its value as a hidden gem away from crowds. Another highlighted the ease of access via an asphalt road, contrasting it with a stony alternative that should be avoided. While some visitors report the beach can be crowded during August weekends, others describe it as 'almost empty' during late afternoons. The sunset views, described as 'amazing' by one reviewer, are a recurring highlight, with the beach’s position between cliffs offering a unique vantage point.Practical tips
To avoid confusion, follow the asphalt road rather than the stony detour mentioned in reviews. Visit during the off-season for a more tranquil experience, and plan to arrive early to secure a spot during peak hours. The beach’s snorkeling potential is best explored during calm weather, and its mountainous backdrop provides opportunities for hiking or photography. Given its remote location, consider combining a visit with nearby towns like Zadar for additional amenities.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
It's hard to get there, but it definitely worth it - amazing place, especially off-season. Keep in mind - google maps might want you to take left turn, to a ground stony road - do not follow, stay on asphalt one, you'll reach the place easier and safer.
Very nice beach, if you go a bit further in the water it is sandy. Advantage is that you can reach the beach in normal quality road, no off road :)
We were here in august but during the sunset so I don't know how crowded it is during that daytime. But when we visited, it was almost empty (7 pm) and it looked nice. I give it 5 stars because the sunset here is amazing. You can really see between the channel and it looks amazing for a simple stroll.
Very nice beach in a great bay, but...during august, especially in weekends afternoons, can be very crowded with people sitting 10cms from you.
Beautiful Beach, Not so crowded Zadar
