Dalmatia Beach - Privlaka, Croatia
Beach character
The beach's defining feature is its multi-cove structure, with a primary section measuring 380 meters in length and 30 meters in width. The shoreline is composed of beige sand with pebbles, though the predominant surface is black sand mixed with pebbles. Natural shade is provided by vegetation along the shore, offering limited protection from direct sunlight. The seabed features a mix of sand and pebbles, with a moderate depth increase that avoids sharp transitions. This combination creates a dynamic environment for swimmers and snorkelers, though the presence of dried organic matter on the shore has been noted by visitors.Swimming and shore
Swimming conditions at Dalmatia Beach are influenced by its shallow, gradual depth profile. Reviewers describe the water as clean and free of grass or debris, with a sandbar extending several meters offshore where the water remains knee-deep. However, the beach's entrance to the sea presents challenges: a low wall runs along the shoreline, requiring visitors to navigate around it to access the water. This feature, combined with the presence of dried eggs and beer caps on the sand, has prompted some visitors to note the beach's less-than-ideal surface conditions for children's play.Facilities and activities
Facilities at Dalmatia Beach are minimal but functional. Sunbeds with parasols are available for rental at approximately €14 per day, and food and drink stalls operate along the shore. A nearby 'Ofiko' restaurant offers burgers and fish, as noted by visitors. The beach supports a range of activities including surfing, beach volleyball, jetskiing, and general water entertainment. However, the absence of showers, toilets, or formal amenities is explicitly stated in the catalog, aligning with visitor reports of limited infrastructure.Access and location
Dalmatia Beach is situated in Privlaka, a coastal settlement on the island of Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia. Its coordinates (44.25517° N, 15.1247° E) place it within proximity to Zadar, a historic city known for its medieval walls and Roman ruins. The beach's accessibility is supported by road networks connecting Privlaka to regional hubs, though specific parking details are not documented in the catalog. Visitors arriving by yacht may find the surrounding area conducive to anchoring, given the broader sailing context of the region. What visitors say
Visitor reviews present a mixed picture of Dalmatia Beach. Petr Wacko (August 2024) praised its uncrowded atmosphere and clean sea but noted the shoreline's unsuitability for children due to debris. Adrian Kostarek (September 2022) highlighted the beach's shallow waters and cleanliness, though he found the lack of deep swimming areas disappointing. Dušan Ragany's brief review ('Super Zadar') suggests a positive association with the nearby city. Overall, the beach is described as a relaxed option for families and leisure travelers, with its natural setting compensating for its infrastructural limitations.Practical tips
Visitors should expect to navigate around the low wall at the shoreline to access the sea. Bringing shoes is advisable due to the pebbles and debris on the beach. Sunbeds are available but should be reserved early to ensure availability. The beach's shallow profile makes it suitable for young children, though parents should monitor the shoreline for safety.Exploring the coast by yacht

Reviews
Totally cool, uncrowded beach, with a few families around you. Suitable for children, we had a relaxing time there for the whole afternoon. Above all, we liked the fact that people are not overpaying there. There are also some stalls where you can get food and drinks. Parking a few euros more or less for the whole day, a set of sunbeds with a parasol for the whole day for 14e. Even if we didn't get there until 1 p.m., there was always a free set. What we would complain about is the entrance to the sea... there simply isn't one, there is only the low wall everywhere. And the sand on the shore is definitely not for playing, it is full of dried eggs and beer caps. But again, it was compensated by absolutely clean sand in the sea, clean sea without grass and garbage and a very gradual entry into the depth. Crabs run around there, they can be caught, a daughter with a mask and fins always at the bottom with full handfuls of shells, an area with attractions, a boat and scooter rental, an ofiko restaurant by the beach with great burgers and fish. Of the beaches we visited during our vacation, this was one of the ones we returned to. Well, it's not Sardinia 😂😜 but it's good!! But most of all, calmness, you don't fight with anyone, you don't wait in line at the stand, everywhere you can find a place where there is no one around you.
Sandy beach, clean water, bottom without garbage, grass or sharp stones. Quite shallow, so if someone likes to swim, they may be disappointed (even a long way from the shore there is a sandbar with knee-deep water). The beach itself is quite clean, a shower for 2kn, a few trees providing shade.
